Lots of talk keeps circulating around the thought that it can be partially open with just the old buildings for the soft opening. I would just like to point out that the first 3 floors of the tower are essentially the heart of the resort. These are where the lobby is, the bulk of the restaurants are, the night spot, and lots of the additional amenities. I understand that they could probably get by with the top floors not being complete from a room perspective, but if these main parts of the tower aren't 100%, then you don't have a functioning resort.

I am still very optimistic as well, and I am glad there are several of us that are. Even though I have laid some pipe in my day, I don't even want to use my brain power to speculate the resort readiness at this point. I am not an architect/builder/engineer/porn-star/construction worker/contractor. So no matter what I say, I am basically talking out of my ass. Steve's perspective does make logical sense with the timeframe things have been done compared to what the time they have left. And Trish also makes some good points and that water tight (haha the word tight just doesn't seem to feel right saying on this forum) time perspective also makes sense to me.

I just know, from watching construction in my area, that there is a huge 5 story apartment complex being built along my commute. One day it seemed like it was just starting and was at that structural framing for a while, then next thing I know, what seemed like overnight, I am looking at the building and thinking people are about to move in...and that's even with them fighting shit weather conditions this time of year.

We couldn't get a room for Halloween, so we are going end of Sept. I am sure we will have a blast no matter if there is still construction going on or not.

We are booked for Halloween. All we really need is a bed, shower, buffet, and a pool bar. Other than that, they can continue working all they want!

I'm banking on a few things:
First, they are HEAVILY promoting August 15 for the re-open on Facebook and Twitter. If they don't open, they will suffer badly from the bad PR.
Second, it's a soft open, hence the low prices. Will everything be open and functional? Highly doubtful, but as long as the Sexy Pool is open, the bars are serving, you have some places to eat and a place to crash, everything will be fine.
Third, I've felt Steve has been open and honest with us and it's of his opinion that the resort will be open on August 15. That alone is enough for me!

Not trying to disagree with Steve, but from my experience in building these kind of structures, the slabs and columns is the fast part. The finishes is what takes time. I hope this time I'm wrong

Everyone seems to be focusing on the new tower structure, has anyone any idea if all the rest of the rooms and areas are already being upgraded or are they just sat with nothing being done at the moment?

Ok, you're on. Remember, open on August 15, not finished.

How about a "Sustantially Complete Date" poll. $100 all in. Closest date chosen prior to announced Substantially Complete date, winner takes all? Or the same poll without the cash. Either would require photographs of significant areas.

Sustantially Complete would include all restaurants, all tower rooms, BASH, and all public areas.
