Been home a day, so time to give our opinion of our experience at GP as first timers. We are long time members of TTR, not happy with the price increase. Arrival was amazing, they checked us in in 5 mins. No pressure to buy a timeshare or anything. Food was good overall , some of the best steaks I've had. Room service was cool, til 4 am. But the fact they cooked real food til 4 am was what we loved. Fajitas at 1 am after drinking was great!! Pool, not great, got in once. Too cold and no bar for service. Beach was amazing. Spent whole time there. Have a beach bar that is not too busy. Service was slow at the bar near the pool. Hardly went there. Activities by the staff, well, sucked ass. Been to a lot of resorts, worst anywhere. The indoor bar, sixties bar, was badass. But they kill the fun by having karaoke or bingo every night at 11. Summary is we had a great time, would go back, but only as a laid back trip. We own a massive bar so sometimes we just want to chill. We met several TTR people while there. Topless? Yes everyday at the beach. Wore the same tiny sheer bikini at TTR, wore the same dresses at ttr. Never had anyone say anything to us besides compliments. But then again, that is the smart move lol!! StAyed a week, so anyone with questions feel free to ask!!!
Bingo at 11 pm! Wow! Thanks for the review. Headed down in three weeks. Hope the pool water is warmer!
Yes, actual bingo. Not sexy bingo or naked bingo or tequila bingo etc. and yes, promptly at 11. Kareoke was worse honestly. Prob with the pool is no bar and zero music.
Hot tub was somewhat warmish, but the wind was too much. very few outside at night, mainly to due with the weather though. It is quite large, prob 30 person at least. But once again, no music and have to get out for service. But at least they have one and It is an option!!!!!
Great review! We are going (our 1st trip to GP ever) in a few weeks. Kinda bummed that there's no pool bar and even more disappointed that there are no theme nights. Was there a foam party? How about nightly entertainment/performers - anything good? Is there kayaking or other non-motorized water activities?
No foam party. No music. They did have some live music a couple of days at the pool, similar music to what is played in elevators. Did forget they have a very nice performance auditorium, we only went in and looked at it. Never saw a show though. I don't think they have water stuff because of the massive waves near the beach.
Assume you have never been to GOS or the TTR comparable GOV a few years ago? But if you have how would you compare the fun factor?
Actually goin to sens in may to try it out. We had fun, did not go with a group, met plenty of great people. We would def go back.
