Some repeats from above but worth emphasizing... Sunscreen - error on the side of too much $30 usd a bottle there is ridiculous pediolyte - you will party longer and harder than you ever thought u could and you will wake up the next morning anxious to do it again. It catches up to you. We love bringing the pediolyte powder packs and mixing them with water before bed. Really makes a difference. Speaker for the room - comes in use for late night entertaining Nice but light clothes for party time - I am sure you are partaking in some themes and not some others. When you pass on specific themes try to bring some light but nice/dressy shirts. We missed last year but the 3 years prior in October octoberbreast was insanely hot (a good thing in our opinion). Early visits I wouldn't have enough club/dressy short sleeve shirts and would be uncomfortable in Patty o's due to being hot. Nice short sleeve linen shirt. Say white for white night, works well. Granola bars or quick snacks for room - we seem to miss breakfast or lunch every day due to partying and having a granola bar for the room to help refuel was nice. Bug spray - some trips it is needed. Some not. Better safe than sorry. Wine or liquor - they have never been known for their wine. We like wine. Nice to pack a bottle for a special chill dinner at some point. We also like to have a bottle of our favorite vodka in the room and some Red Bull's ($5 on site for Red Bull) Sorry, just an early Monday brain dump on the way to work. But a start. Fun day dreaming about packing for TTR.
Kyle got the bulk of my main ones as well. We are pretty social and always seem to have company in our room (not what you're thinking ) hanging out and/or chilling on the balcony. It could the period of time right after the pool, or a before a group meets up to head to dinner or to Patty O's, or much more unlikely, but after Patty O's. So some of my suggestions are room party related. Speaker Case of Red Bulls Shot bottle (jager, fireball, flavored vodka) Shaker Red solo cups and disposable shot glasses Extra Flip flops Extension cord Wrinkle release Lysol Flip cup table But again the emphasis on some type of insulated mug. This is such a big one because the cup situation stinks (little old crappy plastic cups). Maybe it will improve after the remodel, but I doubt it. We actually use the offical orange CancunCare orange Bubba mugs during the day, but then at night we switch to silver yetti cups that have a nice built in straw (and we put our names on them). Here are some fun pics of of these mugs in action. This was more of a joke to put on this list, but just in case you were wondering what a flip cup table is, haha. (drinking game that can be played in the pool with a group). Also works for Beer pong.
Stephanie says.. 1. Sexy swimsuits that you can't wear to the family beach at home. Think thongs, maybe sheer, strings.... Check out the web sites of Wild Weasel, Dangerous Curves, Malibu Strings. 2. Bubba mugs for sure. Personalizing them is a form of TTR artwork. 3. Costumes for the theme nights.. Loads of fun! Again, sexy is best! Something barely there comes to mind. 4.. Sunscreen, Chapstick, and fewer normal clothes. You won't need them. Johns Response.... 1. More sexy stuff for Stephanie! 2. Square cut suits! Check out AussieBum.com or similar for guys square cuts. The square cuts are SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE than the typical board shorts, which will feel like a wet diaper after wearing square cuts. We wore them as kids, so why not now? There will be other guys wearing them, and I think the ladies wearing little appreciate the effort from the guys. 3. Much less normal touristy summer clothes which you won't use anyway. 4. Bubba Mug 5. Tip cash. We choose to leave the maid a nice tip each day, and rather than constantly hitting the jar at the bar, like many others we'll just slip in a pretty good tip at the start of the day. And you'll need some for waiters, etc... Hope that helps
The bubba mugs... where do u get them ... do they sell them at TTR or do I need to purchase one before I leave
Great responses, hitting most of all our notes, * we take dryer fabric sheets, stick them on the AC unit inlet (stays sucked on) and takes the musty smell away and is a nice scent. * For sure the electro lyte packages to add to a bottle of water, 2 or 3 times a day, never way up hung over again.. maybe tired but not as hung over as our first year!!! * XXL large Custom made T shirts to reserve chairs (Slide them over the chairs) wind cannot blow them away, and introduces yourself to others.
YAY! So happy to hear those dates. We'll see you there! You picked a good week. There is a VERY good group going then. Welcome to the group.... Guarantee you'll make some new friends Sept 28 to Oct. 5
Thank everyone of the responses! I will have to look for electrolyte powder.. never have seen that before. That will come in handy for weekends here at home that we go out! Hate Sunday hangovers!! I will start making a list on my phone now with these ideas. Sounds like such a fun place and I can tell we have picked the right week. Really looking forward to meeting a lot of new friends and hoping to make it a yearly trip!
