So we just got back from Sens yesterday and want to give the lowdown to anyone thinking about booking Sens as a Temp replacement until the reopening. First I want to say we went in knowing the vibe would be different, so this posting is based on how the hotel is run. We all know Temp has a special vibe that no hotel can replace. In a nutshell we would say absolutely DO NOT BOOK this hotel! Overall the hotel is extremely poorly run. That said they do have a couple points where they rank higher than Temp (in our opinion). Here's the pros and cons as we see them: Pros -Scillabar restaurant was amazing. That said it was the only good one and we would only put it on par with the Italian and Asian at Temp. -They have bottled water on demand. -Pool is VERY clean, they scrub it every morning. -The view of the ocean is amazing. -They have covers on the chairs that make them far more comfortable then Temps. Cons -Our maid refused to clean a dead lizard in our room, why I have no idea. -Our shower tub was as gross as you could imagine. Cracks and stains all over it. The shower head had mold on it. The drain was rotting off. The faucet stuck out an inch from the wall and it was so loose it spun all the way around. Last part about the shower is it doesn't have any curtain so it soaks the whole bathroom every time. -The towels cover you in fuzz. -The bed sheets don't fit so by morning your sleeping on the mattress. -Extremely slow bar service. -Bars don't give shots. -The front desk is terrible. They wont exchange money 99% of the time and the closest place to do it is several KM's away. The one time Di was able to get them exchange more than $20 we noticed they shorted her 100 pesos, guess they felt like they should get a tip for counting it out... -Gift shop is extremely expensive (smokes cost 3 times what they do at any other store) and they don't give change. WHO DOES"T GIVE CHANGE??? -Restaurants don't take reservations before they open for the day, so you need to line up an hour before they open or you're not going to get in. -Food overall other than Schillabar is terrible, much worst than Temp. -Phone card machine didn't work and there no where you can get one without getting on the bus or taking a taxi. -Staff is overall unfriendly and unwilling to help in any way. This is just the major issues, there are many many more. We talked to a bunch of people staying at the hotel and 90% of them said they would never come back. After this trip we truly realize how awesome Temp was. Did they have some small issues, sure. But overall Temp is a 1000 times better experience. If you plan is here or not take a trip, 100% save your money.
We had about the Sam opinion as you. I wish I would of saved my money and weeks vacation and went to Temptation 3 times next year!
We read reviews this week that very favorably compared Sens to TTR........including better food....drinks....and evening entertainment..........and fewer clothing requirements around Kink at night. We may well end up with rock, paper, scisors for a final choice. SIGH!
We went to Sens for Halloween with the HnH group. Amazing time. Zero complaints except no nighttime buffet. Would go back in a heartbeat ( with a takeover group) Loved the Kinky nightclub
Not really sure why such a bad review of Sens. TTR had the absolutely Worst rooms we've EVER stayed in at ANY hotel and we Never complained about them, We excepted them and moved forward. We go to TTR about 5-6 times a year and have nothing bad to say about it. But to Knock Sens for the very few issues they do have is a bit much. The staff was very friendly towards us and Everyone in our group. The bar staff prepared Shots upon request, they even tried to recreate the Wet Pussy for us. The towels did leave fuzz, but really! Did you ever look at the tubs at TTR or for that matter the Pools? The sexy pool was disgusting with White Foam swirling around in the Jacuzzi's that was made up of dead skin and no telling what else. Marco, the pool waiter had drinks to us whenever we were near the pool every ten minutes! That's not an exaggeration. How do you rate not exchanging money at the front desk? I exchanged once while we were there and they provided it with no issues. How many times did you require a money exchange at an all inclusive. Seems like a strange complaint. Maybe even nick picking. I feel that you get what you give, especially in Mexico. If you're rude and hostile towards the staff you're probably not getting good service from that point forward. Not saying you were rude, I wasn't there but only offering a tip to others. I gave a detailed review of the Restaurants, so I won't address here. Gift shop issues? Really? Phone card machine? Really? It appears you got yourself worked up into a frenzy. Just wait till you go to the NEW TTR and discover ALL of the changes going on there!!! You're gonna Freak Out! For anyone thinking of going to Oasis Sens for your Winter/Spring/Early Summer trip. Go, have a good time, try to book with friends and other TTR peeps so you can have a little bit of the vibe. Skinny dipping was allowed in the pool with the swim up bar, I and other did get completely naked at Kinky on two separate nights with interaction from the bartenders. It's not TTR, because 75% of the clientele aren't TTR people. You take 75% of TTR people and put them at Oasis Sens and you would have a very similar resort. Staff isn't as good because a lot of them don't speak English. Make your own judgment:deadhorse:!
Sure I guess ours and the other 90% of guest opinions are wrong and only you condescending opinion is right. Get a life Tyler and Ang, if you think this place is going to hit the mark for the vast majority of people you have rocks in your heads.
You're just being silly and the review you left about Sens proves it. If you extract the silly complaints, ie; No phone Cards, no money exchange, didn't clean up a dead lizard in your room( I would have picked it up and thrown it away myself, but maybe Your too GOOD to do that), The comparison of the bathroom to TTR really isn't a comparison. The TTR bathrooms were disgusting with black mold everywhere faucets that dripped constantly mildew on the glass door AND water that got everywhere, sinks that didn't work, Oh and also on our last trip to TTR our bathroom ceiling came crashing down to the floor in the middle of the night. FUZZ from the towel was on me, OH MY!! How in the world will I ever get over that! SILLY! The bed sheets didn't fit! Maybe you toss and turn in your sleep because your wrestles about something going horribly wrong in your life that you leave Silly trip reviews! Just an opinion. Slow bar service, never experienced that. We tipped our waiter pretty good and he ALWAYS had a our drinks too us quickly. Bars do give shots! You said food was worse than TTR, Are you saying the food is bad at TTR as well? Or are you saying that the food is bad compared to TTR. You're sentence wasn't clear. Our review was very clear about the issues we had. Some of them were bad and we made note of them in our review. As a matter of fact we were pretty pissed off the first day, but after getting a good night sleep in our bed that the sheets stayed perfectly in position except when my husband and I had sex, which they NEVER stay in position not even at TTR, we woke up with a new attitude and made the BEST of our well deserved vacation. Are there issues, Yes, Could the resort be run better, yes , Is the Staff a little stand offish, Yes. Which ALL of these issues were addressed in our well excepted Review. You on the other hand resorted to name calling when someone points out that they had a different experience than you and that some of the issues you were making out to be why OTHERS shouldn't EVER go or WASTE there money on was simply SILLY things to be upset about. Also, was it REALLY 90% of the people there Agree with YOU! Where can I go to get the documentation on that. Actually it was 90% of Everyone agreed with me. Or was it maybe 30% no wait 60% hmmmmm not really sure seeing that I didn't go around and ask everyone in the resort what kind of experience they were having. We have a life a Life, we travel to Cancun 5-6 times a year with a great group of friends that KNOW how to have a good time no matter WHERE they are! And my point wasn't condescending, it was pointing out the OBVIOUS strangeness of your review. No Rocks Here! Just an optimistic outlook on life and the people that are in it!:bootyshake:
