Very sorry to read of the terrible incident at The Blue Parrot in Playa, this morning. Sure hope this is an anomaly, and not the start of a trend. We have been in that club, and sure wouldn't think it was the type of bar that attracts gunplay. Other parts of Mexico have lost tourism due to repeated occurrences like this and we would hate to see Playa ruined by violence. Headed to Playa in 38 days and a lil concerned. Prayers and condolences go out to anyone impacted by this tragedy. *one of the deceased security guys, Kirk Wilson, is from our area and although I didn't actually ever speak to him, I have seen him and I have friends who knew him. Been told he was a super guy.
We stay at The Royal in Playa from time to time, and while it's not TTR (What is?) it's a really fun time for the less strenuous party people, and the walk up to fifth street where the Blue Parrot is a good time for us in the past. I hope this is a one-time thing, and wasn't a harbinger of drug violence to come.
This is what happens when a country is a narcostate without a 2nd amendment/concealed carry. The fairytale is over.
Great lets make this all about the 2nd amendment ,, we all know how great that is working out in the States .
LOL ok snowflake - have fun when your airport transfer is carjacked. Sunfried brain contributing to the terror of the great Mexican people - smh.
