Jackie managed to get through to Alpharooms today. They have rebooked the room and agreed to pay the difference,. whatever that was ? Happy days so just waiting on an email with a new booking reference. Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation.

I think a budget holiday company (used to be based in the UK but moved their business to Spain) called LowCostHolidays went bankrupt last week. Been in the news over here as some people have lost thousands because there's no ABTA assurance. Good that Alpharooms are footing the difference. I was never aware that they subcontracted bookings to other companies.
I'm curious if the other company's like Orbitz, Expidia, Travelocty, Cheapcaribbean, do the subcontracting thing too?? T
Lots of people use them , the biggest issue is contacting them , probably due to time zone differences call you cc co before booking ,, charge may no go through ( EU ) pay attention to dates that show up on booking ,, it always adds a day ,, subtract a day from your booking if you have too ,, before check out .
