First, I have this strange feeling that nobody is going to actually get off the tour bus? (Careful with the double entendre, it'll bite ya...)

** I just had to fix my above attempt at clever writing for humor's sake... which is completely lost when you typo and don't notice it. **

Next, mid-range is typically the actual "best time" in my experience when traveling, as a general rule. Pricey enough to be of decent quality, but not so pricey as to be pretentious. (remind anyone of a vacation destination?)

I've no issue at all with Uber, but am a bit worried about putting French names into my iPhone, since I don't speak a lick of Francais...

I totally agree with the sentiment that a strip club will NOT be necessary. Remember... there are actually votes for one of the Fri/Sat theme nights being "Naked Time." Ha! I love it... Anyone's who's been to DRM or Pearl loves a good naked time party.

Montreal is known for it's great food. That being said, the hotel is not in the best area for dining. I chose it because of the proximity to the club.
There is so much variety of cuisines here you wouldn't believe me if I told you!
But.. if you want smoke meat.. it has to be Swartz's on St-Laurent (St-Lawrence).. it's world famous and worth the commute. If you want to try poutine then you have to go to La Banquise on Rachel Street (open 24 hours).
Personally I Uber instead of taxi everywhere... and there are more English speaking Uber drivers than taxi drivers and they are much more polite!

    Hey guys just a tip.

The hotel is great but there is not much in the area. I recommend coming fully stocked. I have stayed there 100s of times and there is not much in the line of grocery or liquor stores.

Feel free to email me if you need more info about the hotel or Montreal

    Hotel update:
I met with the manager today, and although bookings are going well.. we are at 138 people (updated list coming soon); we are far from taking over the hotel.
The release date for my hold on the rooms is February 1st.
This means you have until that date to take advantage of our group discount MTLBC at $160 plus taxes.
I am pushing the manager to keep our rate as long as possible but I won't be able to guarantee it unless we have the numbers.
SOOOOOOO I am asking you to respond please...

Deb, you might want to put that announcement about the need to speed up the bookings for MTLBC in it's own thread so it jumps out at people. Just an idea, knowing how boards work.

Question/concern (easily remedied): No liquor store nearby? That is a potential issue, for sure. How will us early arrivers be able to stock up for shots and drinks in the room? Montreal people already have this solved of course, even if they don't drive, so what sort of plan is best to make? Ask uber driver to take you to a liquor store? Get it on the cab ride from the airport. Shoot, can you uber from the airport?

I mean, all I need is 2, make it 3 handle bottles (1.75L) of Fireball (it IS sold in Montreal, right?), a bottle of Don Julio Silver (or comparable, Tequila snobs know), a bottle of gray goose, a bottle of Crown Royal or Elijah Craig or Angels Envy Rye or Jamison or....

    You get the picture.

Better to Have and Not Need than to Need and Not Have!

I asked this question on the FB event and here is what I learned:

Beer/some wine is available at any regular corner store.
Hard liquor is available at a place called SAQ....it's 2.5km (1.5miles) down the road. I'm sure lots of people will be going but if not it's a nice walk or short uber.

Stacie jon you buy as much as you want at the duty free and bring it with you or pack it very carefully. Beer and wine is sold at every corner store here.

I don't like the wine at temptations ( no offence) so I pack enough for the week.

Its not like you are packing clothes.

Its much cheaper for Americans to buy at the duty free. Probably save over 50% on some brands.

Depends on the saq but if it's a saq depot which I think is the closet they probably wouldn't have any of what you are looking for except for crown.
