I see that Alpharooms shows prices in GBP, can you book travel through them if you live in the US? (obviously with price conversion)
Thanks for reply ģuys. Will try for first time AR. Can not pay using my credit card (from Mexico by the way) but Paypal is an option.
We've booked with Alpharooms through the link on this site several times. It's always worked great and we've never had a problem with any reservation made through them. The only thing is, since they are from the U.K. you might want to call your credit card company and alert them that you will be making a charge through the U.K. The reason is, at least for me, when they would see a charge from a different country it would often be flagged as possible theft or loss of card. I was always glad they were on alert so the call to confirm before was not a big deal to me. Maybe if you have lots of charges to other countries it will not be seen as unusual to your credit card company. (Just a tip to hopefully help some)
I concur with the statement above, please use the link to AR via the CancunCare site. It gives a little back to the site owners :england:
Also, please double check the date before you make the final click. For some reason, the date that you enter gets changed by one day every time. I told them about it 3 years ago and it still does that. Wierd!
Yeah it always subtracts a day. So put in 8/16 if you want 8/15. I have always figured it was a bug in their code that for some reason that was looking at our time zone and trying to calc what day we want to arrive instead of just accepting what we put in. I wonder if people in the U.K. Using alpharooms have the same issue.
From the looks of it AR has very decent prices...will have to check how they compare to member prices. That aside I have 2 questions... 1. Colour me stupid but where is the link to AR on here? Can't for the life of me find it other than referenced in some posts. D'OH! 2. Wasn't there an issue some time ago with non European residents booking with AR for TTR? Something about TTR verifying your passport for UK / European citizenship, and possibly charging the difference from AR's discounted price and the rack rate. Or was it a hollow threat from Original Resorts (or just my imagination, lol)? I am assuming that my second question is mute as many non Europeans are booking with them and haven't had any issues. Now I just want to make sure it wasn't my imagination :aktion034:
Could not find the link either , but every time you write it on here , it appears ,,, yes there were issue before with country of origin , but have not heard anything recently .
