We like to go away mid feb to escape the great white north . Who did you book with or did you book direct with the hotel and get your own flights etc . The CAN$ at par is only for 8 nights or more and there maybe other small print. We usuallygo for 10 days .
Hey Guys, yeh we have to get away from Canadian winters in February too. We booked through the hotel; if you book 8 days, you get one night free. The Cdn $ at par only applies to their mountain resort, not Copacabana. But if you mention that you are Canadian, you can ask them to bill you through their Canadian office, so you will be billed at a better exchange rate. If anyone needs any other info you can just PM us and we fill you in on the details. Kev and Maya
Perfect , time to check the piggy bank and under the mattress ,down the back of the sofa etc for some cash and find someone to look after the cat and we should be good to go .
Clothing optional would definately get our "vote"! At .East a Clothing Optional area......like the quiet pool. Dee barely wears anything anyway...........and I hate the wet diaper feel.......not that I have experienced precisely that in recenthe years. So..........not the entire resort.....but a select area would be ideal!
Some of the reviews about the copocabanas are not good . Seems like they have "working ladies" around the pool and lots of 60+ old guys hanging around ?? Sober second thought is kicking in about this place ???
.......lol.....I feel Judged! That 60+ reference stung................and there are some ladies I know well that have "rental" fantasies......... So......Copa cabana in Costa Rica......hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
a lot of reviews on TTR and Hedo are not good either ,, a lot are written by prudes ,,, you have to filter threw them ( I have not yet ) . as far as the working ladies ,, probably true CR is known for sex tourism . Never been a fan of free for all public sex,, clothing optional and free for all are 2 different things .
We have been to HEDO 5 times from 2008-2012. What made those vacas for us were the friends we went with Met some very nice people there as well but again it was our small group that made it so much fun. We used a couple of different travel agencies to book with but over all we found it twice as expensive as TTR (we are members). You can get some decent deals booking with various groups from life style travel agencies (no names here though). IMO the resort was getting long in the tooth and needed upgrading / renos (which they are now doing). Food was great overall, entertainment was good, spa is excellent and day time pools side activities was kind of hit or miss but then again our group jumped in with both feet and had a blast (naked water slide and extreme bocce ball are the bomb). Don't think we will be going back as for CDN's I find it too pricey and we have some serious $'s invested in our membership at TTR (haven't won Lotto Max yet). If it were not for our small group HEDO wouldn't have come up on our radar as a place to go for us. It started with the H1N1 thing in Mexico and we all had TTR booked...and for various reasons we decided to cancel TTR (I couldn't go because of work; Mexico was a banned destination for military members). It was a scramble to find a place to go as all this happened within a couple of weeks before our travel dates. For us clothing optional is nice but not a make or break thing as traveling with our friends is what makes our vacas. So long story short we'd be down for a clothing optional (not mandatory) area at TTR. Scott
