Did anybody check out this article with Mario Cruz, concept manager for Original Group? He talks about plans for the resorts, new cruises, possibly additional properties, and of course TTR. One On One With The Man Behind Desire Most of what he had to say was encouraging, but I was not happy to hear they plan to market TTR to bachelor parties as part of their business plan. Apparently he has not read the endless post on the topic and the problems often seen by marketing to packs of single guys looking for one last bachelor fling. Almost always trouble, and it sure changes the vibe in a hurry. Definite mood killer every time. During our September visit we had to have security confiscate the phones of a group of single guys who had to sneak pics and video at the sexy pool. Total pain in the ass... I sure hope Mr. Cruz educates himself a little more on this topic that comes up often but never for the better of the rest of the guests.
Last April when we were at Desire they were telling people during the presentation that TTR was no longer going to allow single men under the age of 30 in order to avoid the frat party atmosphere. They are consistently inconsistent it seems
We got t he exact same presentation ,,, ,,buy in ,, there will be no more bachelor parties , buy in your prices will be locked ,,,,, yet another lie from TTR Management . And people ask why I don't buy in . The Numbers can be right ( sometimes) , but I do not trust these guys at all.
OMG,,, is this guy for real ??? copy.d and paste from his article ''Desire was designed for heterosexual couples (21+) '' TTR... .''' It’s the perfect place for groups of friends, bachelor parties,''' ''Temptation clients ranges from $117,000 to $140,000+.''
The NEW Temptation Donald. This is one of the reasons for the reno...they have a target clientele... I am surprised about the bachelor party thing...
Exactly ,, the new Temptation was supposed to be a more sophisticated clientele , and the rates were going to go up ,,, so they said '' no more bachelor parties , and buy in now and lock your rates '' all their words , not mine . ,,,and designed for '' heterosexual couples '' ??? is this guy living in the 18th century ??
Besides the obvious re the comments on heterosexual couples and bachelor parties I think the stated annual income of Temptation clients (or looking to attract?) of $117,000 to $140,000+ is a bit of a pipe dream IMHO. Some stats (US): The top 20 percent of income earners bring in a household income of just over $100,000. The top 10 percent of earners have a household income of more than $148,687. According to the US Census Bureau persons with doctorates in the United States had an average income of roughly $81,400. The average for an advanced degree was $72,824 with men averaging $90,761 and women averaging $50,756 annually. Overall, the mean household income in the United States, according to the US Census Bureau 2014 Annual Social and Economic Supplement, was $72,641, or $20,702 (39.86%) higher than the median household income ($51,939). Guess it is nice to know that even not making it in the top 20% (and being paid in CDN $ which is currently at least 25% less) that we can manage one or two 10 night trips per year, lol.
Mindi and I are pretty good friends with Mario. I already texted him about that statement...im sure theres things he needs to keep under wraps, but if I get a straight forward answer, I will share...
That's great. I doubt he wanted to stir up that hornets nest again and it might have been just an unfortunate few words but it sure gets peoples attention. You know what would be cool? A private interview with him for the loyal followers of CancunCare. That would very interesting and a nice way to acknowledge some of his most loyal customer base. It could surely put a lot of questions to rest also. Please ask if he would mind answering a few questions for the readers of this site as an exclusive interview. Just an informal chat really. We could even email them if it was not possible over the phone. Thank you!
