There is no construction going "up" at the moment. Everything is going down.

There's huge pilings to be drilled and sunk, drainage and electrics to go in, a pump system for the new pool etc etc

I'm no expert, but once you have demolished and leveled everything you don't just build a 7 storey block on top of it straightaway, and then 9 months down the line say shit we forgot to put drainage in, we've got no electric and the whole tower is leaning to one side.

Once construction goes above ground it goes rather quickly but there is much to be done before they can go skyward.

For a similar (kind of) construction programme I'm currently working on, piling and groundworks will take 11 weeks. I know things work quicker in Mexico, but even so, it'll be at least a couple of months before you see any kind of new construction taking shape.

What's interesting is the demolition / ground clearing for what I'm working on is predicted to be 8 weeks, which is similar to how long it's taken TTR to get to this point. I'm interested to keep an eye on progress at TTR to see how it matches up. I really don't understand how they can have everything up and running within 10 months of closure. That's a ~47 week programme. For a job that size in the UK, it'd still be a shell of a building! I'm not sure all facilities / rooms will be open for the August deadline.

they won't be ''up and running'' ,, it,s a soft opening,, thye have not denied this and the prices reflect that ,, hence the accelerated scheduled .

as long as they have a pool , lobby,, and a few restaruants they can open.

Most of the existing room are just getting a ( major) facelift and will probably bed ready.

The tower may not be ready,, but they could still open everything else .

    this was my understanding .

I wonder where their going to put the new beach ? (jk)

And now San Francisco has the newest leaning tower. And of course, it leans to the left. LOL

    Just a little snippet.

I drove by at around 9pm last night, the gates were open as a lorry was leaving. The site was floodlit and I saw quite a bit of activity going on with drilling rigs and cranes operating and many workers around.

And my 2 pairs of flip flops, with countless tank-tops and sunglasses.

Luckily all 4 ofElyse and my Bubba's have returned. I guess it's hard to lose something that is permanently attached to one's hand/mouth.
