Have noticed a lot of new Subgroups and events being put on Facebook . The traffic on here ( for numerous reasons we all know about ) is down a lot. . Lets not forget how we all got to know each other in the first place . If it were not for this forum we would never have connected in the first place . Not to mention FB sucks when trying to set up event ,, its like reading a book with no chapters or index. Important posts get pushed down by people posting memes, or insignificant garbage . On here you can have as many threads as you want for different subjects. A lot easier to navigate . I don't see the advantage of posting an event on FB versus here . recent 2 ongoing are , The Toronto get together , and Cherry poppers group.,,, not picking on anyone , ( just examples ) , just opening up a discussion In the future I think we should try to host the events here , and use FB to direct people here , instead of the other way around . Thoughts ???
Agree we went to Temptations twice before finding this page. This is easier to navigate and find things that are relevant. Good place to co-ordinate the meeting of new friends, post interesting bits about different resorts.
I completely agree. I always start here. It is a lot easier to keep a group organized on here. On FB it all gets lost, and if you don't see it when it's posted, then you NEVER see it!!!! XOXOXOX Dawn

I was thinking of starting a thread like this. Yes, Facebook is convenient, but Cancuncare is the foundation of where it all started. Without CCC I would never have visited TTR. It's a shame that the traffic is so low these days. Even before closure, the threads had dropped significantly with more focus on smaller Facebook groups. Personally, I'll be looking to start and contribute to more threads on here. I'll set up a new Chaos Crew thread for 2017 after Christmas and post regularly. It's much easier to keep track of things here, on Facebook it gets lost within a week. I tried pulling some pictures from a Facebook TTR group that I'd posted a few years ago and it was impossible to find them amongst the non-posts and memes.

I totally agree as well, and I try to talk via the forum as much as possible. It is much better organized! Two things though about facebook: 1. If someone sends and invite to a group, I'm not really going to say no or not join. 2. It does help with actual names. Sometimes when people have a forum name and picture and you can't see their face and their name isn't their actual name(I understand some people do have to stay anonymous), it's much harder to find the people when you are at the resort and do name and face association based on convos you may have had before going down.
Good point about the actual names. I do appreciate that aspect to FaceBook, but I much prefer CancunCare for the ability to navigate, search topics, find photos, etc. FaceBook is built like much of social media. It is very transient and geared towards "right now" information, not long discussions and ongoing topics. I have a hell of a time finding anything on there if I don't follow it closely. The upcoming Toronto party is a prime example. We are going but thank goodness Stephie has been following all the posts with info or I wouldn't have a clue about much of the party. All I have to do is point my truck East (from Michigan) next Thursday and she's got the rest handled, and we'll finally get to meet Donald! CancunCare is the way to go for better discussion, better reviews, and better info any day. And there are some pretty clever names on here too!
