Demolition Progress And Renovation Progress. Reports, Pics And Videos

Being in construction business here ,,, we always laugh st the people overbuilding in low neighbourhoods with high expectations of a good profit.

I think after initial rush things will calm down and ''wishfull thinking'' they will settle at the 15% mark you hope for .

my last trips were a stretch with the .74 CDN dollar ,, a 50 % increase would not be tolerated twice ( will have to see it at least once ) )

 

We heard today that the property is for sale. I just can't believe that. We "know" Premier" abandoned a property on Isla mid construction. We watched it sit there a couple years before it was sold and redeveloped.

These per night increases mid construction are typical of a property marketing itself for sale. I just can't see this resort at a price higher than DRM or D PEARL.

Let's hope TTR returns as it's old skanky self.............that's the market looking for a place like this. If you want a more upscale top op resort look at Breathless Cancun!



We hope this news is wrong, but comes from a reasonable source....well semi-reasonable. She has been spot on before......

 

I don't see anyone that would buy it during an upgrade project that has unknown pricing with unknown quality/star rating.

They would lose their shirt if they tried to sell this property before proving the concept would work due to the high risk of the change.

Who would buy a resort that is torn down for top dollar with every variable being unknown?

Im sure the owners will attempt to make this profitable. If the prices stay at 350/room for the basic rooms, I think they might have a chance because it does look way better than before in terms of amenities and room conditions. Its still very risky though.

 

I checked prices the other day, for two weeks it was coming in at £3600. It's not that bad. We knew that a rise was on the way, apparently ALL Cancun hotel prices are rising. I figure if it gets worse for 2018, then I'm priced out, but that means I cut my trips down to 7 days rather than 14 and there's no room for a sneaky 2nd trip each year.

 

Have to totally agree with you other places would love to have people talking about their place like this forum does about TTR. I'm sure I was one of many that asked Steve for updates on the construction of the tower and the revitalization of the rest of the resort not because it would in anyway tamp down my excitement of the new building. It was because to shut down a place for 9 months when you think about it you start to think of other things to do. I myself come on the forum every couple of days to check on the progress of the resort. In some ways it keeps me attached to the place I came to love as a get away from it all. I won't lie I'm certainly gonna miss the resort that was,hope it still has some of that vibe when it returns.

 

It is killing me to not have any current pictures !!!!

 

Hopefully some pictures will be posted, I know Steve has to protect his own interests but it looks like anyone else can post pictures, hell forward them to me and I will put them on the site, I have nothing to loose by doing so.

I know it's a ways off but we are going to sens Dec 10th for a week and we are definitely going to take a bus ride down and snap some photos. I would love to see the progress on a weekly basis and sure everyone else would to.
