I 'know' the first guy, well I know his Aunt. He lives here and is one of those crazy extreme sports types, he goes free diving in the ocean, cavediving etc. This time he was spearfishing in the lagoon which he has done for years without incident. I guess his luck ran out. He's recovering in Houston at the moment but I'd bet he'll be doing the exact same thing again when he is better. (Just thought I'd throw that out so you didn't think it was a drunken tourist taking a late night swim)
The first time I went to Cancun I saw the signs and thought to myself I did not know there were crocodiles here. Later that trip I went fishing and when we returned we went through the lagoon and wouldn't you know I was one. I wonder if they venture out to the ocean side of things.
911 I didn't know Cancun didn't have this in place already, things you take for granted. New 911 emergency number activated in Quintana Roo - The Yucatan Times T
It's just a different number, used to be 066. Both will work in tandem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't think I have ever seen the fourm numbers this low mid day. Thing is if no one has anything to post there's nothing new to read and less reason to keep checking back. It will probably get slower yet before it gets busy again We should get a few trip reports in soon from the big group at Oasis Sens at least
