So if you are a premier member you don't get a free upgrade to tower rooms when available (almost always)??? If you want to be in a tower room is the assumption that you will have to pay more or upgrade your contract? I keep seeing that a lot of people were coming back this year saying they bought in to get in on the new TTR. What does this mean if you are limited to the old rooms? I don't get it.
It won't matter what color wristband or upscale perks membership at upper levels offers if you're the only one at the party. It might get you a nicer room, but that's not why people go to TTR. The thing that makes TTR work is getting people together, not dividing the party based on a membership level. I've never seen anybody hop out of the sexy pool because it was filled with non-members. Where the party is happening is where everyone will want to be, and that is still likely to be the sexy pool with the common pilgrims like us. I agree with Steve, they can try to hold different membership levels to higher perk standards, but it's going to be a very tough price point to maintain. We all go there to be hang out with friends together, not to hide on our own balcony.
Pure speculation at this stage. Just reading between the lines. They have a ton of members already (add in zillions of Referrals) and with the new resort there has to be a new better product to upgrade to if they want to keep on selling new memberships or upgrades to current members. From my understanding they dont yet have a membership package that guarantees anything about the tower rooms, and they will need one. Most members bought in before the tower rooms were known about, so something for nothing is doubtful imho.
This makes perfect sense, we have heard about things like this before at other places. We haven't been through the TTR premier speech yet but may think about it at a later date after TTR reopens. T Sent Using Tapatalk
During our pitch in May, I knew of the tower rooms, and had several questions from that perspective. Both our guy and the manager didn't have answers, and it was basically like "we don't yet know how all that will work, and can't say if getting upgraded to the tower will happen, but as always you could still get upgraded to the other room categories, aside from the tower." There weren't any contract options that included any tower options. Us personally buying membership was like "ahhh might as well, cause it's very very likely that we will be back many times." I highly doubt that the whole concept is going to implode and the hotel completely changes. I have read that that some people with the older BBG contracts ended up really being lucky when things changed, and for that reason I thought the risk was worth it. I actually will consider an upgrade to some type of "tower inclusive contract" if I see some value in it. Seeings how my contract is new, and I am making payments. It isn't like I paid something completely down, and upgrading would be starting from scratch again. At this point we will just have to wait and see what happens. I just stay pretty optimist, as I guess that is part of my nature.
