Well...........it's here.......the end of what many of us have enjoyed for years is here. The promise of a 'new' better resort is the lure of hope we all cling to....... that and all the memories and friends that we've enjoyed for years and years. With the new pricing models we've seen....rack rate or not, the price is likely going to leave some folks at home. Here's to seeing you again on the other side! Stay tuned and let's hope we can get updates as the days ahead unfold. Be well...........stay safe......carry on! PEACE!
My wife was so upset when we left after our trip in july knowing some of the people working there may not be there when it opens back up. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
... ummm... mine too, and it was August for us. That part sucks, but as O/P His Trampiness said, the bright hope of a shiny new place to go and play lures us forward. In the meantime, just join us at Desire, eh!
I've been through a lot of changes with Temptations through the years and one thing I must say the resort has always became better for it. The family knows what there doing without doubt. I've seen it go from Blue Bay Village to Blue Bay Getaway to Temptations. Seen it when the only pools was the sport pool and entertainment pool(I know some may remember when it was just one pool). I remember nightly entertainment was crammed into a small area divided between the buffet restaurant and the wall going out to Patty O. 50 people barely felt comfortable in that area. Then later moved to the papal by the sports pool and now in its current location. I remember them buying the resort next door and renovating everything. Rooms updated many time through the years. Perks for members added, taking away, changed programs, etc etc. as many of us Premier Members know. Numerous changes of the entertainment staff with many significant members leaving and coming back and leaving again. Rumblings of possibly changing the direction of the resort a few times through the decades because of bad press. I remember at each turn long time guest would worry what would happen to the resort and the atmosphere. But in the end with most changes the resort shined again. It attracted more guest and more people fell in love with it. With each change the resort became a better experience for the guest and not just in the atmosphere. I feel the new resort will completely blow the old resort away. My only concern as with many is overall price. Though I feel with the location and the competition the market will take care of us long term and the worry will eventually go away. Maybe in the beginning prices maybe pushed to see the limit and because its new but overtime I think it will settle to be affordable for most past guest. I don't think any of us mind paying more if we are getting more out of it. Food and room quality being the two biggest things(I'd also throw in quality of drinks). Food has always been average at best at Temptations through the years and room have been average for a Mexican resort. We need to understand you can only put so much lipstick on a pig. They did this for decades and every time made it better so I feel them making a majority of the resort brand new will only be better for us. Looking forward to the future for sure. P.S.: I will say through all the years the single biggest change that I feel effected the resort from a guest experience the most by far was Chinos no longer working there. I know for a fact many guest became long time repeat guest strictly because of him from years of chatting with guest. I would feel quite confident stating that he had the single biggest impact to the resorts bottom line in the last two decades. I have no ideal how much he was ever making (my understanding was not very much/which maybe indirectly and directly related to some of the issues) but there isn't a single reason in the world that Chino's shouldn't have been making 75K to 100K a year. Which I understand is completely insane in his field, but Chinos is an all-star like no other and deserved to be compensated like one. His character I bet had a bigger impact for the resort than the whole marketing department combined. I'm sure Steve would agree Chinos on the Boob's Cruise is a massive asset to the success of it.
Thank you NMARCKS for your post. As long time clients of Desire RM and Desire/Temptation Cabo on its opening day with about 10 visits between the 2 Desire properties, we are sorry we did not find Temptation until 2-1/2 years ago but we did manage to get 4 visits in. We bought in to the Premier program 1 month ago and are excited about what the future will bring. We do hope the prices will not increase so drastically that it scares some of the fun people off. We also hope that the 'party atmosphere' of the place remains, we absolutely loved Patyo's! We also hope they do not tame the sexy pool games and keep some of the 'raunch' factor. We 100% absolutely agree with your comments about Chino's!! He is a true entertainer and the reason we have been on 4 boobs cruises and look forward to more. I wonder if they could bring him back to Temptation??? Today being the last day of Temptation as we know it, is a sad day, but here is to hopefully bigger and better things !!!!!!!
I heard a rumor that Chino will be opening the new Temptation next year. No idea if it's only for the opening or if this is more of a permanent thing. It would truly be amazing if they brought Chino back when they re-open.
During our sales pitch we talked about the entertainment staff. No mention of Chinos but they indicated the entertainment staff will remain very low key. Not sure why they want that approach. The games the last week were fun but not because of the staff. The participants were amazing. A happy middle ground would be fine.
