Analogy: Someone starts a restaurant (forum) at their own expense that specialises in a particular style of food, let's say pizza (TTR). Starts off small but spends years building up a client base of regulars and satisfied customers through hard work, establishing the menu, vibe and decor etc. Word of mouth and advertising brings more people into the restaurant looking for that great pizza they heard about. Regulars come back because they enjoyed that pizza so much. Once seated at the packed out restaurant, a regular diner tells a newbie about the great Pizza place they just opened up next door. It cost them nothing to open because a company was giving away free premises and decor to anyone who wants one, and they don't need a chef. 30 others think "hey that's a good idea", I'll open a pizza restaurant too, and they all go into the original restaurant and invite the diners to their new place. Before long the high street is full of pizza restaurants all offering a similar menu and there aren't enough diners to go around, so most of them shut down - because there was no real investment in the first place. But not this one!
We'll still buy your pizza Steve! Yours is the best! However with my favorite restaurant closing for a year I guess most of us will be going on a No Carb diet! We'll be back, and when we are please have a lot of boob cruises scheduled! That's the best product anywhere in the world, and impossible to duplicate.
I agree with all of the analogies. I am concerned because of the rates quoted to members for next year, if this forum will suffer for quite awhile as many of us on here will not pay 400 bucks per night. So more time to build a new client base. We leave in the morning, finally.
Ccc is the best pizza in town! Seriously, we are on here daily for about 6-9 weeks prior to going to TTR. Once we get back, we may check in once a week at most to see whats going on. I agree that the hotel closing will impact for some time. We will continue to check in though!
Well guess maybe it will just be Steve Donald and me on here in a few more weeks. Maybe it'll just be us, telling dirty jokes and marking a daily countdown to the colossal Grand Re-Opening Or maybe we can take up birdwatching and report with pics great daily sightings.
...or...we could talk about all of the hot, crazzy, naughty things we did the final week at the old TTR!
