Yes, if U have a certain request U can get a chance to make it here. Also, they will have most of the information already in their system so they do not have to type it up while u are waiting at the front desk. If it makes their job easier , it makes your check in easier...as always, jmho.
We do it too, but check in seems never to be stream lined. Instead it is a negotiation. We try to be very specific at front desk with where we want our room and they ignore and try to give us the worst rooms they have (Garden rooms facing the street). Have learned to return to desk as many times as required to get acceptable room. This time we have paid for Ocean view but expect to have to negotiate again anyway.
I paid for ocean view, wasn't what I expected but we could see some ocean. I accepted it and figured I wouldn't be much in the room anyways.
We always do it only because it means the trip is getting close. I have asked for Paty O's rooms every year and they always originally try to send us down to the 5000's. They always end up fixing it for us but it takes a bit of time. Nicole
First timers here. Check in tmrw. We paid for a deluxe ocean view. Are there any rooms/sections to absolutely avoid and request a change if they stick us there? Thanks in advance.
If you paid for a deluxe oceanview you should not get a bad room. But if you don't think the room you get is a deluxe oceanview then go back and request it. 1st trip we took we accepted the room we got - 1111. Main floor, central location. 2nd trip asked for 1111 cause we like location. Wasn't ready so we waited. When it was supposed to be ready was given away so they gave us 1205. This a very nice room overlooking quiet pool with partial view of ocean and great central location. 3rd trip we asked for 1205 but wasn't available so accepted another room not knowing where it was. Had a view of the parking lot and the main road at front of building - not great. Went back to front desk and asked what would it take to get a room like 1205 and they said $300 for the week. So we paid it and ended up in 1205 lol. So it's all about negotiation. But again you paid for deluxe ocean view so you should get it without paying more.
