I just got back and there were a lot more single guys that the exact same time around last August. To me all of them were respectful and didn't push the boundaries. With some of the. No worries, I was just baffled you didn't get what singles guys got out of going to TTR n saying it's primarly a couples resort.
Weird. We got back a few weeks ago and we did meet a few single guys. Met some single girls too. Two of the guys were a couple so don't know if that counts or not but they were a blast to hang out with. One small group of single guys were from the UK and they were equally as fun. Of course they were light weights in the shot department...but that's another story. Then another group we meet had a single guy with them and he was just as cool. Wife was topless many times in front of all of them and I have to say they were all respectful. Bottom line for us is, this being our first time, we met a lot of cool people.
Hard to lump single guys (or single girls for that matter) into one negative category, unfortunately one or two pushy, over the top people gives all singles an unfair bad name. We have partied with a lot of single people who were absolutely amazing, but singles, sometimes more often single guys, certainly need to respect a couples comfort level and boundaries. If you walk up and without saying a word, and just grab someone's wife, no matter how liberal the couple is, it's going to go poorly. You would think just relaxing, being respectful, and going with the flow and having fun is common sense but sometimes it's not. Always found the vast majority of singles are fun and respectful and great to hang out with, but a couple aggressive jerks will put a lot of couples on edge. That being said ,I would say the vast majority of singles aren't jerks and are out and about for the same reason, to have a good time Single guys and girls are usually great...hope I don't eat those words when we arrive on the 29th lmao
We've really enjoyed most of the single guys and girls we've met. As in any group there are always a couple that can be a pain, but they hardly represent the entire group. Some of the best people we've met at TTR have come as singles. During our upcoming trip we were really happy to see a few will be back at the same time! Thinking of Captain Blue Eyes and his Canadian crew - damn they were fun to hang out with and great people!
I think the dynamic will change after the renovation. I would think that 'packs' will be priced out, when there's party resorts closer to the Cancun party zone.
