Nothing kills a good time for me more than having to be on watch 'cause guys - especially single ones - can't keep their hands or inappropriate comments to themselves. Hopefully, that problem clears out before we get there on 9/10. That particular fuse is fairly short. -Bigger
Your fuse and single guys I agree with you that nothing kills the vibe or makes the night less enjoyable than having to watch the fringe around you and your group of ladies to be ready to divert the inappropriate. However, please be careful, remember that you are in Mexico and utilize security. These guys have a thankless job and if you are nice to them and speak to them whenever you have a chance, then they will be more responsive when you tell them about a problem guest. There was a thread last year that one posted, the husband decided to "handle" the single guy that was bothering his wife. The end result was the husband went to jail, the wife paid a good ransom to get him out, and the resort kicked them out with no refund. Whether he was the aggressor or not does not really matter after all of that happens. Also never assume that some of these things are not set-ups. Local cops send someone in to stir up trouble, guy gets arrested, "bail" is requested. Security has removed a few at my request, although I would have loved to correct their behavior myself, I enjoyed my vacation, I did not pay a ransom and my wife did not have her evening ruined.
"Get out of it given it still is primarily a couples resort"? Wow! That line blows me away. I've there 15 times (8 single n 7 as a couple) and had a blast almost every time. Being a single guy there is a blast!!! The resort is for couples and singles!!! Sucks there are some douchebags out there, but Desire resorts are for couples. So some of us "get it" lol
They already have a resort with a sexy vibe, for people who can't handle single guys. It is either of the Desires and they are boring as hell. Get really tired of the anti-single dude rhetoric. TTR is edgy and that is part of what makes it the shrine of A.O. Removing the single males would most certainly negatively alter the chemistry. After 23 trips I can tell you of many times whereby a married guy caused way more shit and was out of line but is given a pass because he has a spouse there. Any time this topic ressurects, it is always newish people posting and blindly thinking it is profound thoughts.
Very true Marshe. Often a "single guy" is a married guy that had a fight with his wife and he went lurking on his own. In my post above, note that I said "divert the inappropriate" and did not narrow it to "single guys". The "single guy" report was from last year's post as related by that person on their experience and getting kicked out and arrested. Lats year we had a guy that was with his wife, he was absolutely drunk. While in pool after foam party he decided it would be a good idea to squeeze my wife's breast (without asking). The lack of request was bad enough, but the "squeeze" was enough to seriously bruise her. Not a single guy. My post was primarily aimed at warning to not let your temper get away and wind up in a bad situation.
Complaints about packs of misbehaving single men are not the same as complaints about the general concept of single men. You have to acknowledge that there's a difference. Most people can "handle single guys" but would also agree that too much of a gender imbalance, especially when the imbalance is due to misbehaving men, kills the vibe. Even Steve agreed that there were so many single guys that the vibe didn't seem right, and he's the furthest thing from a "newish" person "blindly thinking it is profound thoughts." ~MAXX
Perfectly said. Truly single guys have never been a problem. It is the large groups of (usually younger) guys.
We were there this past week, and it was kick-ass, but there were a LOT of single guys, it's true. Most very cool, but a couple real douchebags. At one point the douchebaggery got so rich one dude got himself carted off to Mexican Jail (where they have the outside cells, so think aobut that.... Hot sun, rain hot sun night time cold then rinse, lather repeat). Sucked to be that dude, but that's what you get for being a douchebag. Still we were comfortable enough in our big group that, even witht he girls basically naked on WDSN we felt fine and had a good time.
As a single guy...not a pack guy...it's sad reading this stuff. I can't agree more that the packs are frustrating. I love that the resort is normally a balance of singles and couples (normally more couples). I've met so many friends, made friends for life from all over the world...and a few local. These packs ruin it for so many...including for the good single guys. Steve does the Boobs Cruise and packs are not accepted on it. Chinos and Omar know how to deal with the ones who are still potential problems...If the resort could find a way to do the same...wonderful. Until then, we all keep a watchful eye for idiots. Several of you have met me or know me...or just seen me around...among other good singles on the forum. I've spent time with couples and singles helping fend off groups, catching guys trying to roofie people (mainly because they think I'll want in on it) and walking drunk people (men and women) back to their rooms. Singles (guys and girls) love the vibe of TTR just as much as the couples and I'd argue all the above contribute to a wonderful atmosphere. Glad you guys had fun and bought in. I would too given different circumstances. See you all after the reno...and maybe some of you as we explore other potential places this year...
We are at the resort right now. The vibe is off. The resort isonly half full, and when you throw in a ton of single guys it messes up the feel of the party. The single guys here now are not over aggressive or dicks, but rather quite and confused. Very few are interacting which leaves allot of dude's sitting on the sidelines staring, which then makes the couple's more inhibited. There are also allot of Mexicans here who don't seem to understand the party vibe. They are nice, but also quite and reserved.
