One thing I'd recommend (not just TTR/Mexico, but any tropical resort type place)... start taking a pro-biotic about 2 weeks before (and while you are there). The resort water is fine, as is ice, but if you go somewhere off resort, or eat something that may be 'off', preloading with PB's will reduce/eliminate tummy troubles. As I said, TTR ice/water/food is fine, but I go "better safe than sorry"... I've been to other places and everyone else in my group fell ill except me. It's not necessarily dirty or unsanitary conditions, but other countries have different minerals and such in the ground and thus, in the water supply, that our bodies aren't used to. That being said, 3 trips to TTR and no one in my group has ever had a problem. Have a blast!! :aetsch004:
As a newbie couple we want to thank you, the tips help a lot even though we have travelled quite a bit in the past.
Newby For June Junkies Thanks for the huge first timers advice list. Be there June 11 thru 17, can't wait!!
Random Newbie question - Do they serve Don Q rum at the swim up bar and if not is there a liquor store nearby that I can call and find out if they have it? Even if they do have it at the bar we'll still want a bottle in the room for us.
That particular brand doesn't look familiar to me. There is a duty free at the airport, and there is a liquor store across the street from the resort.
