On a less hedonistic note than other posts on this forum, we were wondering if there is any charity or kickstarter fund to raise some money for Temptations staff, as their jobs will likely be disrupted during the shutdown. We've been quite glad for the professionalism and work ethic of the staff, and would love to be able to donate a little to help them tide over the disruption during the renovation period.
My husband and I were informed a month or so ago that the ownership had made arrangements to continue some type of payroll, maybe at a demenished rate. But I really like your idea to provide some type of go fund me account or something. :aktion033:
Talked to some staff, those that have been there a "while" and they don't think they will have an issue. There are labor laws in Mexico that address these situations. Lay offs cost companies money in Mexico just like Canada and the USA. Those that have been employed long enough likely won't be laid-off as it will cost the resort too much so they'll likely be working in some capacity or compensated until they return. Those that have been there less time may have more difficulty but I don't know where that line is drawn. I won't name sources in case this is trouble...
Hopefully Staff management is more honorable then Premier ( mgt) sales staff in carrying out with their promises .
We are there the last week and will tip more this time. Too many employees to try a funding idea. Not sure how it would be divided or whom would manage it.
Only those employed in Mexico City if I remember correctly can get unemployment insurance. Sent from my LG-D851 using Tapatalk
Don't forget even if the hotel does continue to pay them( small salary) ,,, they still won't get tips
