So, i got off phone with Premier and had an interesting chat. I purchased a membership in May. At the time i was well aware of the renos (In fact that was their big selling point) The sales staff were very quick to tell us how the pricing was going to go up and now was the best time to buy in and lock in these low prices. Like others were told, i was assured that the price couldn't go up anymore then 4%/year. I was quite upset when i saw the new pricing less then 6 weeks later but decided to sit on it for a few weeks. It just rubbed me the wrong way, I mean their whole sales pitch was how NOW was the ideal time to LOCK IN these prices. If they changed the deal this soon, what else could i expect to come up? I called the salesman who sold me the membership personally (he gave us his cell when we joined). He said he was quite upset with Premier himself, said the sales staff was kept in the dark about the price increase and that they were all blind sided by it - that if they knew this increase was coming that they would not have been telling new members the false claims of only "4% a year". He also said that Premier wasn't following through on their promise to take care of their TTR staff during the shutdown and he didn't know what was going on. Take that for what you will. He also informed me that there was " Things in place" if you wanted to get out of your contract. I then called and talked to a sales manager. I told him my concerns about them not honoring the agreement that was just signed a few short weeks ago. He of course tried to say that the renos were so great and it was still a steal of a deal. I explained how i was very aware of all that was being done to the resort, and that didnt change the fact that they were not honoring the contract we agreed on. I was expecting them to offer a token something to try and appease me, but there was nothing but the line of how regardless of what i was told at the sales meeting that i had gotten a killer deal and that was that. I said that i wanted out of the contract and to my surprise after maybe 1/2 hr of back and forth they agreed. Sent me a form by email canceling the agreement - making it simply null and void. I lost only the first payment made on contract ( just under $200 CDN) I thought I'd share this with you guys, if you wanted to try and end your agreement, it can be done. Not sure if this will help any members who have longer lasting contracts than ours was... but just letting everyone know that nothing is ever set in stone. There are always options out there. We will definitely go back to TTR, in fact we are really excited about it! However, we want to see the outcome of the renos, the new packages, and the crowd/scene once it reopens first. Hence, we will be looking at doing another referral trip after renos are done and go from there! Aknbak
Most people have put down down payments and have made payments,,, but this is good Info for those that have bought in recently. Glad things worked out for you, others have not been so lucky , add the exchange rate and its brutal .
I'm not sure if you are referring to the business model of the sexy vibe atmosphere or the financial viability of the hotel but I'm not sure any of us are qualified to accurately judge either. They have stated they aren't trying to change the vibe so there is no reason to believe anything differently. As for presently having a successful financial business model, I'm quite certain they know their hotel better than we do so expressing these types of unfounded comments really smells of being an alarmist. If we are all a firm believer in an atmosphere where you "aren't judged"......why are so many people negatively judging the very heart of Temptations ownership with unfounded accusations?
As far as we're concerned there are only two themes. lingerie on Thursday and skimpy/sexy/slutty every other night. We have no interest in the costumey stuff or everyone wearing the same color (yawn)...it's just not sexy and/or interesting to us. Our personal preference would be less 'themes' and more general sexiness.
A lot of us don't have faith in a group that is trying to put a 5* hotel between 2 marinas, on a almost non-existent beach, and blatantly lies to its members. So yes some do value opinions of others versus the hotels seeing their plans and business track record. Even salesmans are coming out and saying they were made to look bad, by having to lie. But we do love the ''old'' place Renovate,,, don't upgrade .
Don't know what the big deal,, have never seen anyone being given a hard time for being out of costume ,, except for Moniquie , cause we like to bug her ,lol Just wear what you want . The atmosphere would totally die without theme nights ,, might as well go to GOV
As someone else said before, their plans still have a giant naked girl painted into the pool. With that in the concept drawings, I can't see them having a complete mindset that things will be so different. I don't really think the theme nights define the place, and without them the atmosphere would totally change. I have had just as much fun dressed up some nights, as I do other nights wearing regular clothes. I know Elyse personally doesn't want to wear a costume every night. And remember, participation is way different with the themes at different times, and dependent on the repeater groups. I have friends that have been going for 5+ year on many trips, and don't really do more then 1 or 2 themes per 8 night trip. They just aren't interested in doing any work or planning for that part of their vacation.
