As for the girl on the Boobs Cruise I think it was just inexperience at drinking, she was hitting the tequila pretty hard at the beginning. Not saying it was impossible that it was a drugged drink, only a blood test could be conclusive. But if it was I would look to members of your own group first, particularly as what is a rare occurrence apparently happened to your folks twice in the same week at different places. As you'll recall your group pretty much kept themselves to themselves on the cruise and didn't mix with the others. I also mentioned to you the concerns I had about some of your group intimately touching her while she was incapable of giving consent.
Like Dirty Harry says, "A man's GOT to know his limitations" I guess this applies to woman too. Sounds like she needs to find a new group and or friends if they are going to take advantage of her in the state she was in on the Boobs Cruise, true friends watch out for each other. T

Just Saying ... and no I do not support using drugs to get a woman, its disgusting. I sure it has happen at TRR in the past, but like Steve said two people from the same group and happening on the Boobs Cruise where things are heavily monitor brings questions about group. CP
Reserrection of old threads.... neat. I know for a fact that weird-o folks spike drinks, and I honestly don't know what effect they are trying to get. Sex? Can't be it, once the roofie hits, the person is generally incapable of talking, usually even walking and it's REALLY noticeable. That was your experience, right Dave? The persons friends will move in and try to figure out what's wrong. Even with strangers, it's not like you can get them out of public in the tiny window you have... idiots. Here's a funny, to me anyway, story.... Back in the college days when I was bouncing, my buddy/roommate/security partner in ... uh.. crime noticed a guy hanging out by the bar ... just acting weird and out of place, sort of hovering around but not talking to people. Which is what you go to bars for, right? Anyway my buddy pointed him out to me and we both started just keeping an eye on him. I happened to come around the corner right as my partner went out of sight on the other end of the bar and the guy, I got lucky (for me and the girl involved, quite bad for the dude as it turns out) reached over this girl next to him at the bar (slightly drunken/good buzz, whatever you'd call it and not paying attention) and he big as life dropped something small into her drink. I was coming up behind him about 8 feet away and saw it clearly. But, if I'd been 3 seconds later coming around the corner, or 5 seconds faster I'd not have. The girl reached back for her drink and I stepped up and laid my hand on her shoulder and whispered in her ear if she knew the guy standing next to her or not. She, after she got back into her skin from having someone sneak up on her, looked at the guy, who was slowly trying to melt away, and said no. So, I took her drink away and looked at it.... something dissolving in it. I waved at the bartender to get her a new one, then went after the guy. Long story short, he wouldn't drink what he had planned for her, and said I couldn't make him. True enough, but right then my buddy came up, saw me holding the drink - figured it out in about half a second, asked me if he was going to drink it or not - etc etc. It really is too bad that the front door of the club had that beam in the middle, you know, the post that divides a big double door.... I thought I had the lead,a and I went out the left-side, and my buddy, also confused by who was leading,went out the right side. As both of us hand on the guys back and shoulders... it was very unfortunate that his head hit the post. With some velocity, as it happens. I recall, he needed some stitches. For some reason, he didn't want to talk to the cops, either. Too bad, really. I think that using prescription meds in that fashion might be 2, maybe 3 different felonies as well as Class A misdemeanor assault (TX), some places, might get upgraded to assault with intent, felony.
*edited to add that LOTS of people come to TTR, get intot he Sexy Pool, start having fun with 10-20 of their bestest friends they've never met before and end up blacking out. For SOME of these people... it is easier to try to blame someone else for an imagined spiked drink rather than just accepting the fact that, yesterday, they just didn't know when to quit. It happens, the overdrinking, just accept as the price of a good time and roll on...
Very valid thread, almost should be stickied.? Hopefully it isn't an issue at TTR, (although possible to happen), but going out to clubs and stuff while in party mode can be risky, so a reminder warning is always a good idea! As a muso, I have seen it happen a couple of times where someone has been slipped something, its usually pretty obvious. Usually we're pretty sober and watching the crowd as we play from a stage so the difference between an alcohol and drug 'wasted' is different. I have had it happen to me from being naïve and not thinking, I had bad hallucinations, got really agitated and started trying to walk home - I was 90 miles away! Lucky my bandmates stayed with me. I think it is also worth pointing out about new designer drugs that people are doing to get a buzz. Traditionally TTR people will drink because they have already paid for it, but there will be some that will try a different buzz. I've seen some pretty bad reactions from N-Bomb and similar stuff bought from Silk Rd type sites - I for one would never touch them. There may be times at TTR where someone who is really wasted but not from alcohol, may be self-inflicted. Party hard but stay safe!
I'm not saying it didn't happen but, seems to me DR Nan is upset with resort and trying to stir up trouble.
