The wife and I are newbies to Adults Only vacations like Temptations, Desire, etc.. And, as a newbie hubby I'm trying to make sure my princess has the best experience possible with no worries. Doing a little digging around on the 'Net, I'm finding reviews about Temptations having run-down rooms, broken AC's, mildew smell, bad beach, pushy timeshare folks and stuff like that. However, on this forum all I see are friendly peoples dying to get back there for more fun. So, what gives? Which is true? Should we try something else? She'd like to try topless and wants a place to do it where she won't feel out of place. I'd like a place with great nightlife and activities. But, we also like a quality room, food, staff and such. Can anyone address my concerns? Thanks in advance, GTripping
It's all true....and we love it! No need trying to explain it, you just have to experience it to understand. No, you shouldn't try somethung else. (BTW, the negatives are greatly exaggerated and actually add to the charm of the place.)
If facilities and food quality are very important to you and money is not an issue, then I would go to Desire. If your fine with ok food, an ok room and a world class party for a reasonable price then Temptation makes more sense.
I'm a little worried about that as well. Could anyone shed some light on what is true and what is not so i can prepare for it?
Go Now, Think Later TTR first-timers last summer & I know all too well your concerns! Needless to say, we had a fabulous time & met people that have become friends! Rooms are rooms, a place to get ready & sleep! Food is better than just ok but not gourmet! The best of all is the party vibe that goes on all day & night! There is no pressure to join in (topless for your wife) but I guarantee that once she has a few drinks at the sexy pool & sees almost all the other women topless, her fears will fall away along with her bikini top! It becomes such the norm that on the day we were leaving I said, " Do I really have to put on a bra?"! It's a great place to unwind, have fun & meet new people! Have a great time!
My wife and I have stayed at our share of resorts. Last December we stayed at the El Cid in Porta Morales. Two years ago we stayed at the RIU Santa Fe in Cabo, and we have also stayed at the Grand Palladium in Jamaica. All three of them had better rooms better pools and better food than Temptation. We visited each of those resorts once. We have been to Temptation 5 times and we are going back in July. At Temptation the rooms are ok, the food is good, the service is excellent, the party is off the charts. I guess it all depends on what is the most important to you for this particular vacation.
Run-down rooms, broken a/c, mold- pretty sure you can find negative trip reports on stuff like that for any hotel in the hotel zone. People tend to complain more, than say the positives. It's unlikely you'll give problems in this area, but if you go it usually gets fixed. Beach- yeah, it's small, but at least you can get in the water. Down the others side of the hotel zone the surf is pretty close to being considered dangerous. Pushy timeshare- I've never understood this one. Just say no, and get up, it's not that difficult. Food quality-if you're a "foody" you'll likely be disappointed, if not it will be fine. Nightlife and topless- you found the right place.
