Yep. I was mainly posting that for those wondering about non member prices. Def sounds like those prices are gonna take some by surprise. If 236 holds , I can guarantee we will not be going as often. We broke even a long time ago with our membership, so if the run ends another will begin somewhere else!!!!

And the $236 will be for the cheapest room. According to their reservations website the cheaper room will be $444 per night at regular prices and goes all the way up to $939... Guess my wife and I will never be able to stay at the Oceanfront Master Suite. This are september 2017 prices.

I have never been a fan of buying in to things like TTR or time shares although it might work out for some. I have done ok by looking for deals and jumping on them at the correct time. The next trip 08/27 to 09/04, 8 nights was $159 USD per night for a couple. last years trip 10 nights was around $130 + or - USD per night for a couple. It would have to be one hell of a deal for me to become a member and benefit any when these prices are out there. I am sure TTR will have some deals out there after the renovations are completed but don't expect any next year after reopening, it's going to take a while for that to happen.

You seem to always find the answers: do you know if there will be a pool/beach bar & loungers for members area after the remodelling as nothing is showing in the video not the artist impression? TA

"Said Fee may be increased or reduced in the same proportion as the Mexican National Consumer Price Index, or failing that, in proportion to the rise or fall in the cost of items covered by said fee. (Note: Paragraph 4 uses the words "...WILL be raised or reduced..." while paragraph 5 uses the words "...MAY be raised or reduced..."

This in a country where banking and laws are written in pencil..

it seems that they don't care about contracts and what if they open under a new name and then all contracts will have to be rewritten or cancelled. Good luck anyone trying to take action against them

I don't think it is a safe assumption that referral rates will be less than non-member rates, keeping in mind 3rd party site options. Hell, it isn't a safe assumption that member rates will always be less than non-member rates. For each trip throughout the years the non-member discounted rate I have been able to get for February, May or October has always been less then the referral rate. And several times it has been less than the member rate including their buy in fee. Twice we examined whether 'buying in' was a money saver and for us it was not as that Mexican cpi rule has never been followed when we have asked members to share their rate increases year after year. I feel bad for those that have been misled but unless you value the perks (at the resort, exchanges, availability during holidays) at a higher value then for us it just doesn't add up. Keep in mind that when the resort eventually publishes their non-member rack rate there are discounts to be found on many sites. So no one has to really pay that 'published' non-member rate. We don't believe TTR will only sell direct when they have a brand new hotel with more rooms and the supply /demand equation starts to no longer work for them. I expect to be able to get $300 a night non-member price. Only time will tell which assumption is accurate :)
