Lots of Newbies lately, so I thought we should help them out with some tips from the repeaters, since we all know things can be a little different at TTR than at other resorts.

I'll start with my top lessons learned the hard way:

    1. Wear your swim suit under your clothes on the plane. Keep sunscreen handy. When you get to the resort, if your room isn't ready, you can strip down, SPF-up, stash your clothes in your bag and be at the sexy pool 10 minutes from arrival.

    2. On day 1, stick to beer or straight shots of tequila--predictable, consistent alcohol levels help you avoid the First Day Curse. Mixed drinks and shots'll get ya. (A glass of water between each one won't hurt, either.)

    3. Put each theme night outfit and any accessories in a separate ziploc bag. When you get to your room, throw all the bags in one drawer. If you find yourself over-beveraged by the time you want to put on theme outfits, you just whip out the right bag--no wasting time drunkenly flinging everything around while you look for all the right tiny pieces!

Thank you for those tips! #3 is a tip I haven't heard yet and that is a great idea! Definitely worried about the 1st day curse but just have to keep reminding ourselves to get water....that will be easier for me (Cathy) to do than my husband.

A good one is bringing those powdered supplements that you add to the water to replenish your electrolytes, helps with the dehydration.

I always used to drink vodka and seven on vacation but it hit me bad. Swapped to straight bourbon and haven't had a problem. No swelling or hangovers.
