I just checked some prices for next year in May and WTF it was 603.00 per night. There is no way I will pay that much for any vacation. I could go on 3 separate vacations for that amount. I sure hope those are not the real prices.

    The Price is Right???

Where did you see pricing for May 2017? Was it on the TTR website??? I tried the website and cannot get a room quote; all I get is the "redefining the Cancun skyline" message re: them being closed from 9/25/16 to 8/31/17.

I truly hope that's not the pricing. If it is, the management does not understand the appeal that has made it so successful! Plus, $603/night is more expensive than hotels in the luxury category (Secrets, Excellence, Iberostar, Moon Palace, etc.)... they would never be able to compete with that pricing!

It was through hoteling.com. I sure hope the price in only that high because they are not actually open then.

I just checked it out, they do have may 2017 rooms posted for $600-750 a night. Either the site is completly BS or perhaps Temptations plans to under promise and over deliver on the reopen date. I'm leaning towards the earlier.

I am willing to beat that price, say $550 a night, and take your booking for May 2017. But I reserve the right to move you to a $200 a night 'comparable' hotel :)

Those prices would make our usual 10 day vacation with air in the 7500 price range. that is crazy

No point even looking for prices until the hotel has a definite re-open date. Anything that you do find will just be a place holder price, and obviously no one can fulfill any bookings while the hotel is closed.

You forgot to add in the taxes of 100.00 to 125.00 a night so over 700.00 per room per night. 4900.00 for a 7 night stay. They have to be out of their minds. I can get 3 trips for that including airfare at their current rates. Hope that's not the case.

If TTR is going that route, they should take a lesson from the Hedo 3 history books... Hedo 3 changed to SuperFun Resorts and was shut down a year later. The difference was that SuperFun was a family resort, but the concept of trying to change something that works not working out is the same.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
