Armed Forces help N.S. woman return home after ‘traumatic’ Mexico vacation | CTV Atlantic News Just received this from a girl from our region. Sick of all the negativity for Mexico but this is too close to home. Especially since we were thinking of going there.:flagcanada:
From what I've viewed in the news report, and you cannot believe everything in the news, the report is from the Grand Oasis that this woman's plight happened, not the Grand Oasis Sens. These are two different locations, two different addresses.
I'm sceptical - a non story made into a story. More like: Girl trips down steps, has the hotel Dr called, refuses hospital treatment and thought she could dodge paying the call out fee and maybe meds/painkillers by scooting off to the airport and leaving the country. The Dr calls the Police, who arrive with standard kit (including rifle). Misses her flight, meets kind Samaritans at the airport (happen to be in the Canadian military) who help her out.
Sounds about right. I fell ill at Desire last year, and the hotel called the doctor (we didn't, as I deemed it unnecessary) but he arrived regardless, and we had to pay him. C'est la vie :daisy:
So the thing that gets me with this story is that because these good Samaritans help her out...now she wants to join the Canadian forces?!?!? Like are you fucking kidding me? Speaking as the wife of a man who has spent 27 years in the Canadian Army.... That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Nikki
Few trips ago I got sick at Temptation, they called the ambulance and they told my wife to take my passport, they took me to the most expensive clinic in Cancun did all kind is test on me with out my authorization, Few hours later drop the bill $7.500 USD I had to pay or they will be doing what they did to the lady in this story, I feel like the resort are in connection with the medics and the clinics ! Don't let them call the medics unless is a very emergency !
Yep! Seen it happen a lot ! Also, a rifle is part of the kit, and standard issued with the Police in Mexico. That's why we are so safe there.. The police try there best.. I agree
Yepper, have to agree. Sort of like I fuck up big time (and try to avoid any responsibility for my actions), get my ass saved by some knights in shining armour and now I want be one of the knights. Well after serving 27 years myself I personally don't want that type of person in "my" military. It is one thing to own up to your actions and another to blame someone else for what happened!
My first year at TTR I walked straight through the glass at the buffet. We hadn't been there 6 hours. I got tied up in the sheer type curtains that were hanging down. It cut my leg and hand wide open. It cut a vein in my hand. They had interior stitches on the vein as well as 8 on top. They wanted to send me out to the hospital. The doctor came on site and it set me back about $300 bucks. I still have this one thrown up to me from time to time. Lol
