Just needed some thoughts and discussion about the deal TTR/original has made with the Sens for transfer of people during the remodel. For those who are members of the TTR Facebook group there is a bit of an uproar on this matter. Steve has piped in a couple of times. Guess what is really needed is real info from people who have actually stayed there. And honest. The Facebook poster seems to hold a real grudge.
We're getting a lot of the same flack on the GP page. A bunch of "we don't want your wild, wicked group here." Old enough to know better, too young to care
One concern I have with Sens, no food at all after 10 pm. And my friend just got back, she said she loved the place, she is VERY religious/modest. So my thoughts are if she said it was great, I don't think it's what I'm looking for. I'll be going to GP despite the backlash from the regulars.
So is the Facebook uproar over how bad the deal is and gaps with oasis Sens? Or is it over oasis Sens people not wanting TTR people like th GP push back? Please explain for those of us that refuse to use / dedicate time to Facebook
A lot of trash talk on the resort itself and a news report on a woman who hurt her ankle and had ensuing problems with officials
So it looks like the FB thing that the OP is referring to is someone unhappy with their transfer option. They want the original resort that they booked, not something else. Then it goes on to say the Sans is not good, other people saying it is good, and then someone pointing out a horror story of one woman's medical issues involving police and a doctor bill before she left. Obviously this is all a matter of opinion, and Steve pointed out that who really knows what happened with the one woman's medical/police struggles. I think skimedic is referring to a different topic all together on a GP FB page saying that people don't want all us animals at their resort. (which if you were booking for Halloween seems like a pretty sweet time cause so many TTR people will be there). With all the talk of construction the last few years, I figured it wasn't smart to book and fully pay for a trip too far in advance (and waited even longer before booking airfare). Sadly other people that didn't know there was a potential remodel plan, or just didn't think it would be a complete closure, aren't happy with the options they were given. Then there are other people that are happy with the options. So really it is a matter of opinion, and in my opinion what they are offering the pre-booked/paid guests isn't all that bad...as long as there are other fun TTR guests being sent to the other place at the same time as you.
That lady from Atlantic Canada made the news; broke her ankle and got arrested in her room for not paying the hotel doctor whom she supposedly turned away. She was fined, had to pay the doctor and had to pay the 2 cops $300 each. Apparently the consulate told her to pay it all, shut up and leave ASAP. According to the story SunWing was not much help (pay for another ticket home in 8 days on the next flight). Of course SunWing has a different story...blah blah. Then 7 members of the Canadian Armed forces came to her rescue at the airport and paid her way home on an Air Canada flight. Good on them But I do think there was more to the story that we have yet to hear...can't see a resort calling the cops just because a guest broke her ankle.
