New Paty'o The New Paty'o will be indoor. it will be in the current El embarcadero restaurant while they will add a storey to this building and the restaurant will be on the first floor (above the new Paty'o/existing restaurant), therefore offering a view of the beach.
The only thing I don't love about the new plan is - I'm not seeing any members deck, members bar, etc by the pool. One of the best parts about being a member is not having to fight for chairs and having the bartenders that know us by name bring our drinks to us from just a few feet away when we are running low. If they have somehow overlooked this (which I can't imagine they would have) it would be a huge mistake.
While I suppose the summer people will enjoy the change, we've always loved Paty'O being outside. I just can't imagine the same vibe indoors with AC and all.
I think some sort of open (but roofed) concept would be great for everyone...the apartment building we live in has a party room with large glass doors that fold open and out of the way...I know it's not nearly as large as PatyO's but something like that would be cool...
My guess is that the new bar is so large that a certain section of it is probably reserved for members (notice that it seems to have 2 different colored bar tops?) And I'm sure they plan to do something different for members with all of the extra pool deck around the pool...
During our recent trip in late-April security was on a general clamp-down and wasn't allowing the much-loved island beautification program. Booooooo!
I guess you missed that day when there were 3 totally stripped down girls on the island. Poor security couldn't do much about it. :aktion033:
