That is very similiar to what I am getting via corrspondance.
Different scenarios depending on who you are talking to.
So it seems it is 'wait and see'

Hopefully they all get on the same page, and a viable plan is forthcoming and soon

Why the hell do they release all this information piecemeal? You would think having a plan in place leading up to closure would have been a priority, most especially any other resort they intend to partner with during construction to maintain a customer base! The little bits of leaked information here and there - often times inaccurate - do nothing to instill confidence in the customers. I would have thought keeping the customers well informed and confident in managements decision making abilities would have been a primary concern. Keep the customers updated with accurate information and you are likely to keep them. If you let speculation and outright guessing rule the day though both parties are apt to be disappointed with the outcome.

Should a couple be worried about an overly aggressive horde at Hedo?

This is critically important considering Jamaica isn't exactly safe.

We were thinking about it as an alternative since TTR is closed and we would like to go on vacation again at the end of the year.

Sad thing is in talking with the employees, they don't know if they will have a job during the closure and that has been a consistent statement from many different employees.

When they are trying to get you to 'buy in' of course they are going to tell you there will be no more discounts via Expedia, cheaptickets, etc. What are they going to say? Give me all your money now to lock in a higher rate than what will be available later via discount sites? They would get very little sales that way :)

Ive been all over Jamaica, perfectly safe in my opinion. I love the neighborhoods there and the people are so friendly. I could easily name 20 U.S cities that are way more dangerous than Jamaica. Never been to Hedo but I heard its really fun with the right crowd.

I think it is important not to let your imagination run wild when it comes to Hedo. Yes it is a lifestyle friendly resort, and yes you will see some things (sexually) in the light of day you would not see at TTR. If seeing others do things you wouldn't do would offend you, it might not be the place for you. But if your attitude is to each their own, you will not have a problem. For the most part the people that go to Hedo are every bit as respectful of others as anywhere else. Will you be approached; maybe, but a polite no thank you, or we're not into that, will be all that is needed. Creepy single guys can happen, but that can happen at TTR as well. The biggest issue when comparing Hedo to TTR is not the clientele, but more the vibe of the place, especially at night. The nude pool at hedo is a party, but they also have a clothing optional pool for those unconfortable with completely nude, but beware that pool will be empty! The nude pool is a lot smaller, and chairs are limited. Also the beach is very small and nothing to write home about. The night life is my issue. If you like the piano bar atmosphere, they have it, but if you like the Paty'Os party club atmosphere with the music pumping they don't. They have a disco, but more often than not it is empty as it does not open until late. They do have a massive hottub, and it can be busy late at night, but again you are going to see a lot of PDA'S there. With the new ownership at Hedo, I have heard that the food quality has improved immensely, and they always serve top shelf liquer. The grounds are large and well keep. Price is a big factor for many, as there nightly rates are not cheap. Hopefully this helps.

I got married in Jamaica, and that was traumatizing enough. I vowed to never go back.

Ah, yes. Marriage can be very traumatizing indeed. And yet so many of us keep going back to it.
