I just had an interesting thought... They said they would be closed for 10 months, not that this new section would be completed/open in 10. Is it possible they could reopen before it's 100% complete? -Mr. LEMO
Considering it contains the lobby ,main buffet, and Night club,, which I was told is ''not totally indoors'' ( smokers will like that ) , opening before is a stretch , but yes maybe before the rooms above are finished , but that would be a full blown construction site and very very dangerous , with Mexican safety standards . Saw a close call by the sports pool washroom last oct, and that was just a small project.
For Premier members, this could be a great thing. We bought in when the place was a 3-star. If it truly becomes a 5-star, our investments will have gone up in value by 2 stars. That means we can trade weeks for amazing properties that normally we'd not go. Looks like a win in my book.
Hmm... Regardless of whether I choose one of the lousy available options or refuse to check a box at all, this shit is happening. It's going to be painful no matter what, and I worry about what the future holds. Damn. Kinda reminds me of the US presidential election. ~MAXX
The more I watch the videos and look at the models the more I get excited. True, I like a more beachy feel and I don't want the party vibe to go away or be out-priced, but who says sleek and sexy can't also be just as much fun? If you read through these threads you will find countless people remarking on moldy curtains, stained mattresses, puddles in the bathroom floor, shitty air quality in the rooms, etc. This is going to fix that and for once it's not going to be just a duct-tape job. They can't please everyone, this is true...but if your annual vacation costs an extra $700 bucks if you want it bad enough and you really wanna come back and party with your friends I think we all know we can make that work. A place where you don't have to pack lysol, air freshener, and clorox wipes...lol. I know we all go there for the people, it's true. But what if we can have the best of both worlds? I know, I know... I'm optimistic to a fault, I guess. When I look at these vids and imagine myself and my TTR family in the sun in a new sexy pool at the swim up bar, now fitting 30 instead of 8 bellying up to the bar, or hanging out in that outdoor area getting drinks at night to the same loud, thumping music, I get excited. That's what I'm envisioning for everyone. If enough of us are willing to give it a shot when it's done, we can set the tone for the place. It might attract some from a diff crowd but by no means does classy or well to do mean they can't have fun. Let's give it a shot, peeps!! BTW did anyone else see that there are two slides in the gallery with the caption "Temptation Playground?" what is that all about? The one with the legs and high heels? Maybe there will be a common play area after all?
I went back and looked and I wonder if there will be something going on with the roof. Look at the glass fence/walls on each floor and you will see the same at the roof level. Perhaps they put a smaller pool and some open playground space on the top. Being the tallest fixture in the area, you could get all the privacy you need up there. I am thinking in terms of some of the other more private jacuzzis and playrooms at other resorts. Food for thought and perhaps makes the upgrade worthwhile for more people.
I watched this video, but I guess I am not seeing what you are seeing. There aren't any models getting me excited, just some weird artsy dude.
