Desire vs Hedo.. What's better for TTR fan?

After Halloween we will have spent 3 days at sens and a day at Golden Parnassus. I'll try to post the detailed trip report on both, as I'm sure many others will. Hopefully that gives some guidance to those who are looking for a new place

Original Resorts, who owns both Desire properties and Temptation resort has probably, IMHO, moved in a typical "business" mode to maximize their profits by withdrawing the entire room inventory from all on line agencies for both Desire properties during the Temptation renovation period. The days of discounted Desire pricing thru the on line agencies is probably over(at least until the TTR reno is done)

They want to be better able to directly manage bookings(maximize profits) for a their very limited Desire room inventory (114 rooms at RM and 88 rooms at Pearl).

If you notice, your dates are probably available directly thru the Desire site - lol

 

Didn't we all learn this in high school, a classic example of the law of supply and demand. Limited supply of rooms, increased demand because TTR is closed, and voila.

 

Yep, makes sense, and it is smart of them. I was thinking of the possibility yesterday and didn't act quick enough. Didn't realize they would pull them today of course. I was about to book all possible dates knowing that i could always cancel them later. As cheap tickets allows you to cancel up until several days before.

Sadly the closing of TTR effects us Desire lovers adversely too

I have August already booked in the Penthouse for only $600 a night so happy to have that at least. I will check the original resorts website for October availability but I think someone in one of these many bitch and complain threads (I mean that in the nicest way possible) said no rooms were available.

 

Remind us what this option was again? We loved Puerto Vallarta but that was a very vanilla upscale resort called Garza Blanca. Definitely NOT a party.

 

We met these guys on the cruise. Someone went last year and said it was a blast. They actually said the crowd was better then the cruise. It is a complete lifestyle takeover of the resort. Here's the link.

correct wayne - we booked direct through desire for mid december (our november trip to Temptation got jacked) and prices were actually not horrific (compared to what they were this past trip in March)
