Temptation Resort can't compete in the 5 star market even with upgrade

You're missing a very large segment like us that go once a year for five nights at $2500. There is no pairing down that, except to not go.

And as you weed out that segment you start to replace them with a slightly wealthier group that have tendencies towards the Desire atmosphere that is less party during the day. I may be proven wrong, but that's my thought.

 

I don't think our livers could function anymore after 7 days we usually take the following Monday off of work to recover from our vacation!!....

 

Hey. You haven't been paying enough attention over the last year lol. I too prefer RM to Pearl due to the party (although the rooms/facilities rock at Pearl). It should be noted that everyone I have sent over to RM has LOVED it. And almost everyone has loved Pearl. But the true TTR partiers clearly gravitate more towards RM.

In August we are trying to get the best of both by going to Pearl for the music fest takeover...

But, I am willing to take a older hotel to party for a reasonable price. Plus I go once a year not 4 or 5 times like some others... so there are trade offs..

Here's a conspiracy theory for everyone:

Original Resorts has determined that TTR costs too much to run due to low occupancy and high costs (we drink a lot and require nightly entertainment plus a large ET staff).

If they change the resort format to something normal like every other adults only 4-5* hotel in the Cancun area they can appeal to a much broader clientele which means they can charge more for the rooms, increase their occupancy rate, and decrease costs as boring people don't need 15 shots of "purple shit" nor do they stay up late and even better, they go on excursions so they are not around during the day to eat or drink.

They are business owners who want to profit.


Conspiracy Theory #2:

Desire RM will have to close in 2-3yrs due to the new resort right next door that was branded as "Adults Only" but due to low occupancy will be changing to a family resort after the current format fails.

The Govt will get involved and ban all nudity on the beach and require large fences to be built around the property causing occupancy to drop.
