I think we can all agree that TTR is cheap. Whats 200.00 a night for a hotel? Thats barely double a room rate at Holiday in in many cities. People talking about 15 night stays goes to show this. Try a 15 night stay in Vegas or any other destination city.

My opinion is that this is all much ado about nothing. We can all sit here & speculate that if the price jumps, the party will bottom out. The fact is that we don't know how significantly the price will jump and how that will affect the party. Everyone keeps throwing around $500/night - what room is that for? And, does anyone actually pay the rack rate posted on the TTR website? No, people go through travel agents and use coupon codes and yada, yada, yada - everything is fine.

Let's slow the roll on the panic and speculation. We will all know what happens in due time.

I will say this for myself and my husband- we will be back no matter what. Period. And we sure as hell know how to party!!! :boobs:

Jamie, the reason I quoted the $2500, was just for the 8 night room(on a referral), plus the $1000 for airfare. Spending money for Boobs Cruise, tips, other adventures, and whatever else wasn't factored into the price of my vacation. I just was talking about the part I end up spending several months upfront, then I begin to put money aside for all those other expenditures.

No matter where I was staying I think all that side stuff would still be the same. And my tipping wouldn't change if the hotel upgraded. I already tip on the generous end (which just comes with Elyse and I both working in the restaurant industry all through high school and college).

The last three years we have done GP twice, and TTR once, all were for five nights from a small midwest airport. Right at $2500 each time, airfare included. That included a very small ocean side upgrade at GP, and Jacuzzi room at TTR.

$2500 is our price that says, yeah, we can do this. If it goes to $3500 for one of those crappy Garden rooms that overlook the parking lot, we are much less likely to go.

I suppose we would do one of those rooms for $2500, I just wonder what the new Jacuzzi rooms prices are? Not worth the $3500 in my opinion.

I think it is important to compare "apples to apples" here....

Most people quoting a $2500 TTR vacation would be talking about a 1 week trip--that is more likely the average rather than the 15 days you are talking about...

So, at 1/2 of $2916 ($1458) plus $1k for round trip air fare you are talking about right at $2500....see your not the rif-raf your just blessed to be able to stay 2 weeks at a time, affording those upgrades wont be so hard :)

as for the $2500 in tips/spending money your going to have to explain that one a little bit---I get that we all tip differently so I don't want to argue that one, we like to think we are generous tippers but spending anywhere close to $2500 additional out of pocket on an all-inclusive 1 week trip that you are staying on site at the hotel at is crazy....If you really tip that generously I would be happy to come and work for you at just your tip level!

Or you could tip only a $100 a day and no spending money for you and you can afford the new resort :partyhorn:

But seriously I think people are just getting to worked up over this. Will it increase, sure. But the market in that area is so saturated that the prices are completely controlled by the market. I'm thinking the new Temptations will be around 3K from most major US airports for a couple for a week give or take about 300 bucks depending on the time of year and the deal you find.

Exactly the point. So if the rooms go up say 100 a night, and you go for 15 (Jamie, not singling you out) why not just go for 8 or 9 nights? If it goes up 200, then why not fewer? The logic makes no sense. I know some people that come from Europe it takes 2 days to travel to and from, and I get that, plan accordingly. We have gone twice a year. Every year. Now, we may have to once. Or instead of 2 9 night trips, it may have to be 2 5 or 6 night trips that costs us a few extra bucks.

You can ALWAYS make more money. You CANT make more memories.
