10-months to complete this project? Please scroll through the photos and decide for yourself - HOME - Temptation Resort & Spa Does anyone believe this can be finished in 10-months let alone 18-months? - Complete demolition and haul away while being on the main Blvd with traffic - All new construction including a lot of steel work requiring cranes to be brought in and multiple elevators constructed - 250 existing rooms unaffected by construction need to be remodeled with all new furniture/fixtures - new pool, new deck, new bathrooms, new outdoor bars need to be constructed and plumbed - new restaurants will need to be built and furnished If GP or Sens were smart they would jump on this opportunity to attract the Temptation guests and get them to be repeaters. They should be on this board offering specials for all former TTR guests and offering whatever price & perks for Premier members have in their contracts. We were stupid enough to buy in once, why wouldn't we a 2nd time? If Temptation goes up market - low season $250/night - high season $350/night - they will lose their repeat business as people come to Cancun for the white sandy beach and TTR offers the worst beach in all of Cancun. People will come once due to the marketing and never return. TTR should lead the market by becoming couples only. Aside from Desire its not been done in the Cancun area, why not really change the market? The whole vibe will change dramatically due the price increase and the clientele they are marketing to. This will no longer be the party resort, it will be Desire Lite, with no party during the day or the night. Part of us welcomes this as TTR was often pretty trashy and that was primarily because of the price point and why it attracted a majority of its guests. We're seriously bummed - Cabos closed on us and now this.
We like the idea of the revamp put not Happy about this we have a time share and we haven't been informed about the revamp and the dates its closing we had to found out through facebook about the new Temptation we are paying a lot for this time share as we are from Uk
There has been a lot of talk over the last year,, but no one took it seriously because they have been saying this for 3 years . They sent out Email notices to Members ,, if you did not get it you may want to update or check your junk folder .
All excellent points and my thoughts exactly! No way this place gets done in that time frame. It's Mexico and it took 3 years to build the Rui down the street! While everyone was thinking a renovation was in order, this project even drives out the guests that make the place special, either by outpricing, or by the "chic" marketing campaign. A project of this magnitude throws the baby out with the bath water. I guess management really has no clue on the meaning of "nobody knows you, and nobody gives a shit" carefree, unpretentious attitude TTR represents now. I don't see the next crowd they are now marketing to understanding that concept at all. I also agree this is a golden opportunity for another resort to grab a very loyal, fun loving, easy to please clientele all looking for a new home. I'm even calling the managers of two in Cancun today to clue them in if they are not already aware. One thing is certain; we're loyal to our wonderful, fun loving friends from the sexy pool and NOT the building regardless of how many stars they paint on it.
I can sum up my thoughts on the whole project with one word. Overkill. Strip the place down to the walls, break it down by thirds and replumb rewire rear re-roof the whole thing, but add a hotel Tower in the middle of a slew of Hotel Towers? You're taking what's unique about your Resort and make another cookie cutter of everything else you find in Cancun. Good luck with that. My first trip here five years ago I cracked my femur (didn't know that till I got home), but I was on the 4th floor and while I bitched a little bit about the lack of an elevator I came back 13 more times. It sure as hell wasn't for the amenities. The other word are used to describe this - miscalculation Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Completely agree on the first two points. As to the last point, I liked the vibe of the old TTR. Us "rif raf" need a place for fun too. Heck we've been to Disney World with our kids about 5 times, and always stayed at the All-Star value resorts. Not sure Disney and TTR should be used in the same context, but for us is similar. We don't go to either place for the rooms or food.
