I think you'll find there's a VERY vocal minority on here who will whine/cry/speculate about $500 nights Minority , lol guess you haven't read posts all over social media,, here , and on 3 FB pages. You are in the Minority , so stop your whining .
If the TTR that we've all seen in the mock ups actually happens...........the TTR concept as it presently exists will cease at the current site. BUT..... Rest assured..................there will be another resort that steps up to fill the void! The reason that hasn't happened yet is clearly TTR has been the "choice"............but, while being closed for a year+........then reopening at a price tag of $500-$600 a night....................there will be another resort that steps up to fill the void.........very likely one that is fairly new or has been recently rennovated..........and at a price tag marginally higher than TTR currently. Be patient.......the "market" will work all of this out. And remember the Cuba market is about to open to Americans! Original Resorts may have made a pretty significant mistake here!

I am all for change and agree the place needs a rework...but damn the place is looking pretty swanky from the conceptual pics. And that comes at a price, may not be $500 but it isn't going to be $174 either. Their literature makes it sounds like they want to cater to a different crowd than they currently have and that comes at a price to weed out us common folk. Call it a gut feel if you will and YES I am afraid to get priced out of a place that we all know, love and have made life long friends.
TTR has been, and is, a dump. Coming from a repeater 6x. I'm happy to hear about the rebuild, because I wasn't going back to the old TTR. We are admittedly Desire RM converts.
We love Desire RM and Pearl as well..........but they aren't a lot better than is TTR by any measure!
Ha! Out comes the vocal minority. Donald, you have no idea what the place will cost. I don't care how many Facebook sites you find. Will the place cost more? Most likely. Will it be more than some can currently afford? Probably. (But you don't know, and neither does anyone else).
Original Resorts has advertised a $650 a night rack rate.......... Other resorts will step up with the same concept at a lower price! Just watch it unfold as TTR crumbles!
I took the time to go to the presentation at the resort just last weekApril/22 to listen first hand to the new concept, and plans and ,,, including the new price structures for members and non members. So I do have an idea , and a pretty good one .:bash:
