Temptation Resort can't compete in the 5 star market even with upgrade

It's not just the pretty pictures though... Look at the verbiage and how they're trying to change the people they want to attract. They are definitely changing the type of customer they are marketing to.

 

Somebody gets it...hence my comment to LOOK BEYOND the pretty pictures.

 

But that's the problem... We look at TTR as the place to meet and reunite with our friends... If some of our friends are no longer able to go because they can't afford it, does that mean we need to make new friends?? Or will we just take our dollars someplace different where we ALL can afford to go?

So glad we haven't bough into the membership at this time..

 

Guys, you seem to forget that they have tied up lots of people with membership, and I am one of them, I extended my membership last Christmas. Although I knew about the plan for the 10 storey building over Block 2 and the joining for Sport pool an Sexy pool, they denied it to my face and also told me they would not be closing for the works. All the staff will have to find other jobs and will not return after a year. I am fuming. I don't like th 5 star look & vie. I want fun, sexy and laid back

 

That what it looks like to me, and I don't consider that a good thing. Saxophone players at dinner? It just looks a little to upscale. I can easily go to an upscale dinner at home, I don't need to fly to Mexico to get it. Everyone craves the late night Patyo burger, isn't that food line good enough for the type of resort people are looking for? It is for me.

The group we vacationed with the last two years stayed at the LeBlanc three years ago, and one of them got food poisoning there. It can happen anywhere.

I don't care at all about waiters putting a napkin on my lap, and tending to my every need. I want a affordable vacation with lots of topless people around having a good time. If our $2500 vacation jumps to $3500, there is no way we will be going.

 

I think they are trying to run a fine line here.. I think they decided that their previous advertising lead everyone to think it was a lifestyle resort in Cancun which did wonders for their business, just attracting the wrong folks, ie the gangs of 21 YO boys looking to get laid.

So now they are pushing for the other extreme.. the upper crust... I think they are going to become another mega resort, but in the wrong location, at the wrong price. OS tried the fancy TTR route and it failed. TTR thinks they know how to pull it off, but may have more faith in people with lots of money looking for a public place to party.

Face it, I know, and I'm sure others do to, lots of people with means that can get down and party with the best of us... however, because of their place in society, they tend to do it at home or at private exclusive clubs... not in public. So yes there are the people out there that COULD support this, the question is, can TTR get them to come out of the closet.

They already have Desires at a 5 star level and it's pretty full. So I think they feel they could bring TTR up to 5 stars and fill it. And they just might do that... but it won't be the TTR we know, it will be more like the GP I think.

Let's face it, if they fill the beds and make money, with happy customers, they really don't care if those customers are reading books or doing body shots off each other. Yeah, the view will change and the tits show might end, but bottom line is that it's a business and if book reading pays more, then they are going to open up a library.

I'm sad because the day I feared seems to be approaching, but actually only time will tell it the vibe does indeed change and if we can afford to come after the renovations.

But all the bitching, moaning, complaining, hand wringing, speculation, or self induced stress isn't going to influence it one way or the other. Only time and the implementation of their plan. So..

In the mean time, let's enjoy out last trips to the current TTR and make memories while we can, because they just might be the last... and then again maybe not, just something to top at the new resort.

That's the bottom line that many loyal TTR guests will be faced with, including us, and you get beyond the $2500 range and it becomes not worth it to us. We'll move on. Maybe the Golden Parnassus has finally got the opening they needed to capture the extremely loyal TTR crowd now without a home. It would seem to be a golden opportunity for a similar resort lacking a loyal client base and struggling to find a niche. Shut down the party for a year (and lets face it, it will be a year or better to completion) and the party goes someplace else. If I were marketing a similar, half-full facility in Cancun you can bet I would be buying ads on this site and welcoming every member with open arms!

 

Its been a long time since they have done a renovation. TTR is out dated and with the new renovations it will improve the experience for all of us. I know a lot of people do not like change but I believe the Night Club will be better because it will be indoors not outside anymore. The New Model just screams SEX and people already know throughout Cancun that this Hotel is an Adult Hotel.

I welcome this change with open arms and yes we do have to find another place for 1 year but time will fly by and we all should make our judgments known after we have experience the New TTR.

 

We loved the outdoor atmosphere at Paty-Os. I think the resort needed an update, not a complete overhaul and changing the entire atmosphere.
