I get a kick out of Trip Advisor TTR reviews sometimes...

OK, so I'm making sure that I've got TTR's resort-based theme nights right for my AugLust thread, so I can start setting up the theme night calendar, get the shopping done early, increase participation, all that, right? So, I hit Google and as per usual a Trip Advisor review page comes up with some matching keywords. It's Sunday, and I'm all chilled out and relaxed, waiting on Stacia to finish her coffee so we can hit the gym (Ack! Leg-day, y'all! Dammit...). So, I'm in no hurry.... so I say to myself, "Self, go see if anyone has written some good knowledge about the best place in the world, or if pretenders still try to tear it down." Click-click...

I just read the following two TTR reviews on Trip Advisor, from two VERY different types of people with widely disparate viewpoints on "having a good time," apparently.

First review, is a true TTR convert, they are now in the fold, as it were. The latter (sequentially next on the Trip Advisor reviews page, just ironic to me() is quite obviously a Fun-Hater.

My fiancé and i spent the first week of February at Temptaion. We both had an amazing week and will come back again in the future.

I'll explain the resort in detail as much as possible;

Food - so there are 4 restaurants in total and one full buffet. The buffet food was ok. There were a lot of dishes we never bothered to eat just because they didn't look appetizing. We mainly stuck with eating anything being freshly cooked,the salad and fruit bar. The Italian, seafood and Asian restaurants were very good. The service was always really friendly and food was tasty. We would recommend eating the lasagna at the Italian restaurant and get the sexy coffee for dessert. At the Asian restaurant we had the chop sued which was also good. Also, the burgers at Paty Os served nightly are magically laced with ibprofen( sarcasm) but really they are a God send preventing hangovers.

Rooms - cleaned every day and comfortable enough. We stayed in the 5000 blocks and heard nothing. I've read a lot of reviews about noise complaints. If you don't want noise stay away from the patty o bar. A room by the quiet pool would be fine as well. I should mention there was a review on a cockroach complaint,...all I can say is the hotel is in the carribean....bugs happen people. We had one awaiting us as our welcoming crew in the bathroom. After quickly flushing the little bugger we never had issues. I would never complain about that. I should note our room did have a bit of a mildew smell to it, it was surely from the air conditioning and there really is nothing to do about it.

Resort - extremely well maintained. The beach is very nice and is daily being cleaned for garbage and Seagrass.... Again there were a lot of complaints about the beach and I just didn't agree with any of them...the beach was well maintained.

Pools - both pools are very well maintained, the quiet pool is cooler than the sexy pool which is nice if your feeling a bit rough from the party the night previous or just need to cool off from being in the cancun sun.

Party - we enjoyed ourselves so much during this week... Every day by the party pool there are fun activities to watch and participate in. Wake up before 8 if you want to guarentee yourself a pool chair beside the pool (claim it by placing your sandals or rented pool towels). If not dont worry, put your bag on the beach and just hang by the pool. During the evenings there's normally a theme night to participate in. This is optional but adds to the fun/party if you do wear something.

Recommendations/Misc. - this is not a swingers resort. It is a Adult resort with adult themes, with policy of "nobody knows you, nobody gives a $&@!" If there are swingers then they are there because its a good resort. People complain waaaay to much about that on here. There is a place to party and there is a place to relax so the resort should cater to everyone's taste, but again, it's a adult resort...don't kid yourself its not. In my opinion though, I don't think I could go back to a under 18 plus resort. They're just better to let lose without little monsters running around.

For the best way to meet fun people, get on cancuncare.com and get on the Boobscruise. It's a 8hr trip that basically has a good dj, great entertainers, open bar. The trip takes you for a optional snorkel, skinny dip, and has 2 stop overs where you get lunch at the island of women, and some other island where you can shop around for an hour. Don't be a prude and come on this boat or you won't enjoy your self. Have a drink and enjoy the entertainment. Participation in the activities is definitley not forced in any way. The entertainment is dependent on the group on board.

Tips - again, to many people write bad reviews because people expect tips. They really don't...maybe the drivers and guys who escort you to and from the airport but even then who cares. Don't tip if you don't want to. If I were you, bring $100-200, $1 USD to tip the house keeper($2-3 a day), bartenders($1 every drink or two), waiters/waitresses ($1-10 depending on service and effort). They don't expect it, but appreciate it. They make far less than you do.

Bring your own big cooler mug.

Sickness - never happened, I ate the food and drank the tap water. Though I did stay away from eating anything that looked like it had been sitting for hours...but that's just common sense. I would still bring pepto, Imodium and a daily probiotic to be safe though.

The staff are great, the rooms are clean and the food is lovely.
However!

This is a swingers hotel, the pool games are very liberal, naked alot!
The noise in the rooms at night in the 5000 block is herrendous, till 6.30am
they have sex parties in them, well some of them, also some leave open their patio doors and curtains in the daytime whilst having sex.
They were filming a porn film while we were there.
The clothing alot of the people wear are next to nothing.

There is a quiet pool and bar and beach area so i stayed at this.
You can get away from the mahem but i would not of chosen this hotel if i had known.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the 5000 block as this is very loud and also the bathroom has windows instead of wall...

I ask all of you, TTR brethren Old & New (not an age comment, a "Back to BBG" statement), "Why Oh Why can't the Fun-Haters figure out what they're getting into before they show up?"

Here's a "viewpoint" truth for y'all as well. If I was just reading after the "however this is a swingers resort".... and before the "ther eis a quiet pool bar and beach" portion.... Personally, I'd be like, "Damn! We have got to go to this place!" Am I right, or just deranged like the lot of you...

We know people that wont go soley based on TA reviews they've read, even though we've told them how awesome it is. With a lot of people we know, whether true or not, if the word "SWINGERS" is mentioned in reviews, it a automatic no go. What's even funnier is, after seeing the reviews, they are convinced we are! HAHAHAHA
Their loss!!!

Oh well, the people that go to TTR, are the reason we go, whether they're swingers, swayers or just play-around-players...so...... Party on!! 12 days!!

 

I'm sorry, I think I would have decided to go to TTR based on both reviews. Porn shoot... sign me up, party till 6am... sounds like a plan, clothing is next to nothing... is there a better way to dress down there, naked pool games... sold!!! At least they gave enough info for others to make an informed decision. But they obviously knew beforehand what trip advisor was so I agree, why didn't they do the research before going.

 

You mean TTR doesn't have Nakid people running around and LIve Sex shows in the rooms you can watch!! So why would I want to go there. I thought the Porn movie set was a secret for the Premier members. I guess I got to think about this some more.

Love it!
Fun haters need to go to the family resort. And noise in 5000 block, I'm call BS..( oh wait maybe that was me screaming)....LOL..that is my favorite section, now do we have balcony shows...hell yes! But I love sitting naked after Paty O's drinking and inviting people up for a drink as they walk the garden back to their room. Great way to meet people.

Temptation DEFINITELY is and DEFINITELY is not a lifestyle resort!


If you're looking for it.......it's as easy as finding the green juice at breakfast. If you're not looking for it........you'll likely never notice it!

There are exceptions to all of this..........of course!
