Getting a tattoo at resort

Has any gotten a tattoo at the resort an what's your thoughts

 

I have never and do not have any tattoos, but my thought is this - the sexy pool is a disgusting bowl of filth by the end of the day. I would not purposely have any type of open wound in that water for any amount of money. We have been to TTR 5 times and by 6:00 p.m. the water is so cloudy and disgusting you can barely see the bottom.

Well that sounds like some great advice plus I don't know if I would trust them I don't have any yet but just been thinking about one

 

I would strongly recommend getting a tattoo at a professional business in your city (after your trip or at least a few months before your trip). Tattoo aftercare is very important towards the healing of a tattoo & sun is bad for a new tattoo. It would be very difficult to care for a new tattoo and stay out of the sun/water while it heals....especially while on vacation in Cancun.

I would not recommend getting at tattoo at all on a vacation, unless you got it right before you went home. Aftercare is very important, and tattoo shouldn't be exposed to the sun or submerged in water until after the healing process (2-4 weeks).

I never understand tattoo places at tropical locations, or the beach. You should get them before or after the summer.

 

I've had 4 tattoos done while on 4 separate vacations, not in Cancun but another island in the Caribbean. Steve is correct, timing is important and I had each one done late in the afternoon the day before we left. No sun and no water after having them. It was also a professional shop with a good reputation and I had local knowledge to back that up. With any new shop I research the artist and see if I like their work also.

That being said I've heard some good things about the guy at Temptation and a few people have posted here that he does good work, hopefully one of them chimes in with some first hand knowledge. I would suggest talking to a local shop in your home town and inquiring if they will touch up another artists work. Some artists will not touch anothers work unless it's a coverup. You may not need to (I've been lucky with all my tatts and not needed touch ups ever) but in case you do it's good to be prepared.
