What does everyone use to personalise their mugs? We just got ours in and want to get them ready for our trip in May.
Forgive our newbie question here.... We noticed those Bubba mugs in a lot of the photos and wondered why people bring them to TTR. Can you tell us what is behind that and why people bring them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
this is my first trip too but our veteran friends told us to get them I guess they serve the drinks in little plastic cups so unless you like waiting in line a lot to get a new drink that will only last until you make it back to the pool then I would invest in a bubba mug or two
Wow! Another example of how useful this site is! Thanks so much for your response, makes sense and we'll add it to our list.... Thanks again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There are a few different reasons to have a Bubba Mug. First they are much bigger than the cups they give you at the bar so not as many trips back and forth. Next they keep your beverage cooler than the plastic cups. They come with lids so when the pool gets a little rowdy you can close the lid and prevent any of the pool water from getting in, trust me you don't want that to happen especially at the end of the day. I'm a firefighter so I just decorated our with Maltese Cross stickers. You can decorate it any way you want, the more creative the better. Good luck and have fun.
Another brand I don't see mentioned is Orca. I tested my Orca against our YETI and it holds longer/colder and is bigger & cheaper. Orca Tumbler Reviews

Yes you definitely have to get and bring some type of mug or cup. The resort's regular cups stink. I thought to bring cups the first trip, but they were just basic plastic tumblers with a screw on lid. I lost mine day 2. The next trip we brought more distinguishable plastic tumblers so we could track them better. that trip was even more rowdy then the last, and the were all broken by the middle of the week. Our favorite bartender just laughed at us one day and threw them in the trash. He replaced them for free with the official Temptation plastic mugs. The last trip we got the official Cancun Care orange bubba mugs. They work great, but serve a even better purpose besides drinking...the easy ability to identify other CCC members. Just follow the mugs, and you are sure to find a good time. Obviously you can get any orange bubba cheaper, but getting the official ones seemed like the right thing to do based all the good this site has done for everyone. The Elyse and Scuba Steve. To decorate we used regular stickers, and sealed them with "Miodge Podge". They are dishwasher safe, and the stickers are still on to this day with no issues. (except mine, the S came off and I became cuba Steve. Which makes no sense, so I just took off the rest and it is just plain old Steve now. Which i will have to remedy before May. If you name is long, it does make more sense just to attack letters around the bottom part. That rounded ridge on the top can prevent the seal from being as good.
