Trying to explain this resort to vanilla people...

When we first visited TTR we didn't have this problem, as usually a 'we went to Cancun, it was lovely' was enough. I was finding it harder to dodge the questions after our 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th visit. Friends and family wanted to know what was up with that, why we're going back to the same place year after year.

I caved and started giving more explicit details earlier this year, giving the real name (tried to avoid by calling it Blue Bay for a long time). You know what, it wasn't so bad telling the truth. I know family / friends / work colleagues that are open about stuff like taking pole dancing lessons, being a burlesque performer etc. Me talking about my amazing holiday at an adults all-inclusive is no different. Funny with work colleagues though, I think it humanizes me a bit and certainly makes me look more interesting than the overweight married cat-lady that they know me as.

 

We tell anyone who asks everything they need to know about TTR. Let them decide on their own. I think people still think we are swingers, let them keep guessing.

 

Lol. I think some of our friends are starting to think that about us as well. The fact that we are thinking about going back at Halloween after being there at the beginning of March will make them wonder even more. It's funny how hard it is to convince people that it's the best time ever after telling them about some of the sights you see at Paty O's on any given night. We love it. I think our friends think we're f****d up.

 

We are honest with our friends and family. We're going to Temptation, it's an adult topless resort where we have no responsibility for a week and get to enjoy each other. As parents, and most of our friends are parents, most live through us if they can't go and some plan on going. As for our lifestyle choice, only a select few know, and it will stay that way. I mean, why do we need to advertise our sex lives. We only tell the select few that know those sexy stories. If someone decides not speak to us anymore because of how we live our lives, that doesn't involve them, then that's ok because we probably don't want to be friends with them if they're judgmental.

 

I basically go with "Spring Break for adults"...

 

Thanks for allowing myself to save time and quote you on this, you sum up our experience to a Tee.

This past weekend we had a cause for our heart rates to bump up a bit, having enjoyed some apres-ski refreshments with a neighbour couple. Our kids, all classmates, were playing outside while us parents downed a few social lubricants. After parting ways I, Mr Skibum, was still sharing a few text messages with her. She's cute and flirty so, well..... texting happens.
Our conversation went something like this:

me: Once we get back from Cancun let's get together on our deck, by then it should be in full spring swing.

her: We are also going to Cancun with the kids, from April 20-27. Deck after the trip sounds good!

me: Ummmm, definitely no kids for us on this trip! We are gone April 13-24 and will require a vacation after our vacation.

her: Ohhh, great! His parents will be with us and willing to babysit so we can go out. Woohoooo! Which hotel are you staying at?

me: (heartrate jacks to 160bpm!, a few texts with Ms Skibum to check in)

Ms Skibum: Send her this ---- "You should tell her it's an amazingly fun resort and you can get day passes but you have to be open-minded about seeing boobs because it's topless optional."

me: (copy/paste Ms Skibum's text to cute neighbour, adding in the resort name)

her: Lol!!!!! That's so you!!!!!!!


I bet they broke their Googlator within an hour while investigating TTR.

 

Vacation friends are the best!

We always tell friends where we are going. My guy friends want to hear all about our trips when we get back. The first thing they say is, I wish my wife would go for a vacation like that.
Then we started to split our trips between Temptation and Desire. The first thing they say after hearing about that is, she would never go for that. I say, you don't know what you missing. I love my wife.

 

When someone asks us what the resort is like we just tell them that it's kind of like a summer camp for adults......with no supervision. We just leave it at that as being under the 'nuff said category.
