I would absolutely hate to jinx us with the weather but the last two years have been awesome. I think we had a day of rain in 2014 and maybe 1/2 a day in 2015. That was during the days we were there anyway. The days are long and the pool is very warm in the afternoon. Nikki
This is a touchy subject as I know those that go during HnH love it but the way I figure it they both can be great right? Nikki touched on some of this but here are our reasons... 1. people (already said, but I am sure HnH people are great too) 2. weather - every year has been really hot and sunny. Really been lucky. Pool is still very warm from the summer months warming it. Weather and heat matter a lot for us so we stopped going in the winter months. 3. it is before the time change which is later in October so you don't lose out on an hour of sexy pool time. 4. it is not sold out so prices are usually pretty good. You don't have to reserve a chair at 4am and you can either get a dinner reservation or give the host $10 for a table. 5. We have 3 kids. We can't miss Halloween at home. And usually this means the people there at halloween either don't have kids or are have kids that are out of the house/teenagers. But sadly we are a long shot this year (I know I said that last year too but for real this time ). Sooooo many trips already planned going to be tough.
I agree this is definitely one of the most welcoming group of people you'll ever meet. With that being said let me offer a bit of advice. Don't sit back for 2 or 3 days and be intimidated by the group. This happened to a few last year. We decided to jump in and act like we had been there every year and I'm glad we did. Others didn't and then may have been a little upset they didn't get to join in on group fun. While you may be active on the board, the group won't just automatically assume you want to be part of the fun and won't force you into anything. You will have to make somewhat of an effort to introduce yourself and fetch some Scooby snacks. If there are times you want to meet others then that's ok too. It's your trip, your time, and your money. You can leave wishing you'd had a lot more fun or leave and immediately start looking to plan your next trip. So introduce yourself, have some drinks, and enjoy the boobies. Shaun
Well said Shaun. We made that mistake with the June Junkies last year, we waited a day or two. This time I plan on finding the crew right away, and just jumping right in. It's about the only way to do it haha. What are these Scooby Snacks you speak of? We do plan on jumping and acting like we know everyone and just keeping the party going. Haha! Don't worry I'll behave when do y'all fly back? We come back on Sunday. We're on the road to Atlanta right now. We fly out early tomorrow morning. We actually upgraded to first class for only $45!!!
If I remember correctly, the Scooby snacks were some sort of green drink- Wasn't all that bad that I remember. Basically just go to the bar and get about 15-20 shots of anything and bring them over to the fun hole that we are all in- ---steph Oh and we did have one night of rain- we were all at pattyos-dancing and it started raining. We all kept dancing, dj kept playing music- it was a lot of fun.!!
