I call that the Trump effect. We always tan in a bed for 5-6 weeks prior to our trip and we use high quality indoor tanning lotion and then moisturize after tanning. We get good and dark but we still use sunscreen while we are there and we end up looking like locals by the time we go home. Nobody can believe how tan we get.
Yes even last year Terri bought herself a new tanning bad so she doesn't have to get in the car and drive tanning now I must taking advantage of this as well. Yes you must tan. Adamnterri Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
Although I tan pretty easy I am pretty white this time of year and I don't care for tanning beds. One thing that works for me is using a self tanning lotion for several days before I go. Gives a nice tan appearance. It wont stop burning though, so I use a strong SPF for the first couple days. After a couple days the lotion has worn off and I already have a natural tan
We tan before we go but we have out own tanning bed at home( makes it easy) other than a month before a trip we never use the thing
Maybe if you spent as much time in a tanning bed as you do with a cigarette in your mouth... It's like anything, excess is enemy. Two weeks of tanning every other day once a year won't hurt anyone.
A tan is actually a layer of dead darker skin on top , protecting the low epidermis from the harmful rays. a pre tan will protect you against getting burnt to a crisp ( to a point) No tan is the safest for your skin, but a burn is the worst. finding a happy medium is the key some people can sit in the sun all day long,,, and others are not so lucky . re Cig,s,,,, buddy says '' I smoke for 2 weeks leading up to my vacation, so I don't choke/cough when I start smoking while Im drinking'' , ???
We always tan before we go now. My husband didn't the first time, as he didn't believe me that the sun was stronger there, but lesson learned, he burnt the 1st day, now we just get golden brown even using 30 and 50 SPF, but definitely establish a base tan before going. Enjoy!
i do a high pressure tan 5 times 10 min each time you cant burn it only uses the good uv rays but cost $20 each visit
Sorry, I have to disagree. I've owned a tanning salon for 20 years. I am normal to fair skin. The first time I ever went south I burned so bad my feet swelled, I had to wrap them in cold towels and I couldn't wear shoes for most of the week. Since I have started tanning before trips my burning is minimal. It really does help me and my husband. Many people don't realise how much stronger the southern sun can be. Also, it is important to start tanning GRADUALLY about two months out. Increase your minutes slowly and avoid burning. To say someone is getting burned after only 5 minutes in a bed is NOT the right way to do it. Also, your skin is a muscle and needs time to recover. Always allow a minimum of one day between sessions.
