April 2016 Roll Call

I wanted to take one more chance to explain the no adult content rule and why I feel it is detrimental to the future of the site. Please take the time to read the rest of this post and hopefully you'll understand where I am coming from.

First of all I am by no means a prude, as owner of the Boobs Cruise I have seen more than my fair share of shall we say 'shenanigans' and it does not offend me in the slightest. But there is a time and a place.

The countdown pics started out reasonably harmless. But sooner or later someone posts something racy, someone else follows and then another. Pretty quickly it becomes like a competition with each day getting more and more contributions and the contributions becoming more and more daring and explicit. Each picture gets re-posted half a dozen times with comments and the thread ends up becoming full of adult content and little else apart from the occasional post by someone posting their vacation dates, which is what this thread is specifically for.

Jannet comes along and tries to do a roll call update so that you guys know who will be there at the same time, make pre-friendships and also to help us plan Boobs Cruise dates, but it takes her ten times as long because there are so many extra posts to wade through. Also, members (particularly newbies) become discouraged from posting their dates because they don't feel it fits with the flow of the thread or they don't feel part of the 'club' because they don't want to take part in posting sexy pics of themselves. A roll call for potentially 500 people becomes dominated by 20.

Someone else from a different monthly roll call sees the thread and decides to do the same on their May or June whatever roll call. The same thing happens. We've then got all the roll calls full of sexy pics and fewer members vacation dates. That leads to fewer people participating, making it more difficult for me to pick accurate Boobs Cruise dates and a much more laborious chore than it is already for the roll call to be updated.

Since the site then has lots of adult content it gets blocked by more and more workplace filters, places that provide free wifi such as libraries, hotel chains, restaurants, airports etc and accessing the site from places away from home becomes less easy reducing the interaction and post count. Advertisers pull out or ban my account as nearly all the decent ad providers have a no adult content clause. Revenue from the site drops.

Creepers come along and find it a good place to lurk since there is daily sexy content to perve over, and instead of wandering off disappointed to find somewhere else they hang around. Then the unwanted private messages start, often from people who think they can extract harder sexual pics by making fake accounts and posing as people they are not. Extra pics they do manage to obtain by false pretences get posted all over the Internet as some kind of trophy. This drives people away and means I have to deal with complaints, identify the creepers and weed them out.

Cancuncare started in 2002, we are 14 years old in August. Despite the rise of Facebook that killed off thousands of forums just like this we are still going strong. Please help me in keeping this site, responsible for thousands of friendships and good times on vacation, in a position to create many more.... and to keep me in a job!
