Just wondering if there are any hidden or unexpected fees in the resort. Some reviews said that you had to purchase bottled water! For us who've never been there before, what are some additional expenses that may not be included with the resort cost? We're students on a budget and every little bit helps :)

We always had a 1 litre bottle (sometimes two bottles) in our room fridge, along with a couple of beers and a few cans of pop. Whatever you used was replaced the next day.
You can buy bottled water at the gift shop as well if you need.
We just got back Monday night, so you will be good.
Just go and have a great time!

No hidden fees while on the resort outside of WiFi. You have free bottled water, beer, soft drinks in your room, when you run out you go to the bartender for more or ask the chambermaid.
All inclusive really is all inclusive, food, drinks, tips, air, hotel... You can go there and not spend a dime. However, I do suggest bringing money to tip maid, waiter, bartender etc... what ever you can afford or think is right.
There is a "hidden fee" if you want a particular wine or lobster with your meal.
If you go off the resort to a club there will be fees, if you want to do an excursion there will be a fee, if you want to go jet skiing there will be a fee etc...
As long as you are on the resort you will have no extra fees.
Other than water is there anything else you are concerned about?

We usually tip the maid 50pesos with a note saying Dos (or Tres) aqua por favor. The only day we only have one bottle in the room is the first day.

We never had any extra changes. Just make sure to return your beach towels that you borrow from the counter in between sexy pool and quiet pool. And we always leave a note for extra bottled water with a tip in our room.

Thanks to everyone who wrote a reply!

Thanks for the info, and the tip about the Wifi, that is extremely helpful.

I was thinking along the lines of gym access, Spa treatment, room service etc. It would be cool to know how much petty cash to bring.

Happy to know that nothing aside from frivolous items costs extra.

The spa is extra. Whatever you don't drink in the mini fridge hide in your luggage so the made will go ahead and leave more. You can stock up a little that way. We have also asked the maid for more soda and left a nice tip and she obliged.

There can be some extra fees for things that are clearly labeled as extra charges, which you must sign for, but after 10+ visits, we have never seen a hidden fee. Not even a tax.
