I agree. I couldn't imagine going without some pre-tanning. I need to tan the girls :)

PS Nice to see another couple from Atlantic Canada....not many of us on here.

Guess that we are in the minority. Found that the electric beach doesn't help. Just lots of lotion the first couple of days, applied over and over(which is enjoyable to watch anyways)

A spray tan isn't going to help at all preventing sunburn. It isn't really a tan, you are just temporally dying your skin. UV rays from the sun are still absorbed. People are recommend to still use sunblock when you have a spray tan. It naturally wears off over time, but being in the water can speed this up. Also, if you don't go to a quality place, it could look bad, orange, and/or streaky.

I have seen way too many people try to get a spay tan before a event(wedding) or vacation, having never done it before. They do it a day or two before not knowing the effect if may have on them, or the quality, and they end up looking pretty weird and are unhappy.

Coming from a girl who is ordinarily "pasty" white pre tanning is a must. The sun down there is stronger than home so I don't want to look like a lobster. Also, lots of SPF while down there.

I will for certain...I tan easily and only need about five sessions to get a good base. Courtney isn't big on tanning beds - she did too much of it years ago and normally doesn't. Since we've got a May trip planned, we're hoping out Wisconsin sun can shine enough days to tan naked on our deck prior to May 7th!!

Agree with what the others have said. A spray tan will not help with sunburn. Also, a good spray tan can be great, but a bad one can be very, very bad. Try it out a month or so before you really want to "wear" it just in case.

I did some research on pre-tanning and I'm pretty sure everything I read said that it won't prevent you from burning at all (but it does make you stand out a lot less and not scream "newbie"! when you arrive lol)...
