Hi everyone, we would like to do this one day out of our trip which is october 14th-21st. Can anyone give us information on how to go about it? What do we need to pay for? How much money will we need if we go? Is anything included? Is it worth it? Anything you can think of to let us we would greatly appreciate it.... Thanks Bonnie & Randy
If you walk out on the beach from Temptation take a right and go down the beach about 200 yards and you will see where you get tickets. I can't rem but I think its like $20.00 per person and it's maybe a 30 min boat ride. Isla is very pretty. We typically don't take a lot of money with us. Just enough to get a golf cart and ride around the island and money to eat on and that's about it so no need to take a pile of money. We typically do this every year and it's definitely worth it for a one day trip.
5 min walk to the ferry port from the resort , 18$ US return each for the ferry , 40$ for a golf cart for the day , we had lunch at Ruebens it was awesome and cheap , last ferry back is 5.30pm unless you get one to a different port but then you have to cab it back to the hotel . North beach is very nice , you can tour the island in a couple of hours non stop its tiny , don't miss the drive through beer store .
Like everyone else go to the ferry port, the day we went we had breakfast walked along the beach to the port. Bought our tickets and were there by say 10. We rented a golfcart for the day, bring your drivers license you'll need to leave it if you decide to rent the cart. We ate at one of the restaurants and then toured the island. It was a fun day.
For what we did, ferry ride there and back golfcart rental and lunch plus a couple beers before we left the port to come back total was $125 US. But then we didn't do any shopping while we were there. But we could have added to the price if we certainly wanted so factor that into the cost.
Should we take pesos or Dollars? Want to do the turtle sanctuary I notice they charge in pesos will we spend more if we just take dollars? CP
We were able to pay in US dollars everywhere we went just like at the resort for tipping we found either was accepted. When you get off the ferry and walk towards the Main Street if you turn to your left you'll find a couple of bars and some shops on both sides of the street, if you turn to your right there'll be a few shops and a couple of bars across the street will be the places to rent the carts. If you walk straight ahead you'll find quite a few jewelry stores where the shop managers will give you free tequila in order to lubricate your wallet. LOL. After exiting the cart rental place if you take a left if I remember correctly you'll pass a Navy base on your way out of town and the turtle sanctuary is that way it's been a couple of years so you may want to clarify that.
Go! Give it a try. Order a Map chick map, get the ferry, rent the cart and follow her "golf cart tour." It was a super day. We loved it so much that we are staying there for 4 days after TTR this year
