TTR is my perfect place, too, but it's not for everyone--and I'd rather give the people an objective, realistic view of TTR rather than have people who are looking for a different type of vacation come and bring down the party atmosphere and fill the comment box with requests for crap the rest of us don't care about. I like the fact that a person can come on here and get a variety of opinions from multiple people's points of view. I feel good when I've helped someone get the most out of their limited vacation time and budgets. Sometimes that means they join us at TTR, and sometimes that means we help steer them to a resort that better fits their expectations.
That's very well said bro, I didn't mean to come off as a snob. I do apologize if it appeared that way. I have saw someone post that single guys should not be allowed at TTR and that if enough couples come together , that it could be accomplished! That's the kind of stuff that I was referring too. But I no way intended to upset anyone, especially a friend !!
Don't feel like a "pervert with a cane" AJ. You're just the same type of pervert as all the rest of us, only you've got a few more options!
That's very sweet in a way only us TTR people would understand lol.. But hey.. I embrace my flaws, I earned every scar I have! I also heard somewhere that chicks dig scars lol!! I don't know about more options... I do ok I guess
Well said everyone. I think we would all agree, that if all that was important was great food and perfect accommodations, we'd just stay home. Unfortunately, I don't think I would be able to convince all my neighbors to show up almost naked in my pool, and party like rock stars. At least I don't think so... but you know what they say about neighbors. LOL I am positive they would not be thrilled with a foam party in my backyard! That said, constructive criticism, is just that, that's why this is called a Forum!
I think that it is important that this forum has negative and positive comments. There have been times when people completely bash every aspect of the resort, which I think is overkill. Then there are times when people overly praise the resort, and act like it is truly a flawless heavenly paradise on Earth. A smart person should be able to come to this forum and be able to read somewhere between the Min and Max reviews. When you start reading and hearing the same thing 75% of the time, then that might be more of the Medium, and is probably a more accurate depiction of TTR. If I came to this site and only read reviews where it sounded like everyone drank the magic cult Kool-Aid, then I would think something is up. When I booked my first trip we rolled the dice on just what we read on Trip-advisor (which requires an even deeper level of objectivity) Is the resort awesome? Yes, but it isn't perfect. Are the bulk of the people awesome and judgment free? Yes, but if you think that every single person there is going to be like that 100% of the time, then you are a bit naive. You just have to surround yourself with the people that share a similar mindset.
Being our first time at TTR in about a month, we couldn't be more thankful for all of the tips we have read, good and bad, that give us a better picture of what we will experience there. I believe criticism in this forum is 99% of the times in good faith and with the intention of improving those minor flaws to enhance the overall experience. Nothing is good without its criticism. Critics set up a standard and a willingness to make things constantly better. That said, I want to thank again for everyone's input and recommendations for those of us who are yet to break their cherry at TTR! Jeep up with the good intentions and constructive criticism, and let's keep it real! We look forward to all the fun times and unique experiences in our upcoming trip! See you in March! (Steve, we're gonna have to make a special recruiting post for the March 25th cruise... This needs to happen hahaha)
